The whole "Andy hates fun" thing has been amusing for ages now because it's so accurate, but we had a real "but I'M from Shelbyville" moment the other year when he noted that he specifically hates *whimsy*, and i was like, wait but i love that shit.

Dreamwidth announced they're finally taking the "Create Entries" page out of beta. And immediately @dryad.bsky.social klaxons went off in my head as i freaked out because i've never tried the beta page. Except ... turns out i switched to the beta page years ago specifically TO get used to it. XD

The ONE person who has really gotten that recently is my father-in-law. Who nodded and explained that he's both proud that his youngest granddaughter was selected to pose for her dance company's ads, but also he hates that now her face is out there in ads. She's 8.

I've started avoiding events if i can't tell if a social media policy easily lets me opt out of photos. And i don't like that!
