OF COURSE leftists are tripping over themselves to talk about rehabilitation of a rapist. Why am I not surprised? I guess it’s okay to engage in rape culture if it’s a guy whose youtube videos I liked! You should be ashamed of yourself for this article, & for espousing rape apologia as a woman

No problem! Thanks for the civil conversation ☺️

I think it can be, absolutely. But I do not think having a public facing media job where he didn’t disclose this to his colleagues was a way of making amends for it, if that makes sense. If he’d been more transparent about it then maybe this could have been moved on from in a healthy way

Respectfully, do you know what the definition of title ix sexual assault is? Because it isn’t groping or harassment, it’s rape. Forcing yourself on someone. It is applied to serious offences. I truly hope that you understand that your responses in this thread very much come across as rape apologia.

Meg @wrappedinplastic.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
You’re speaking like YOU know what happened. How would you know anything is being misrepresented? All of your replies in this thread just read as you being mad your fave YouTuber was outed as a rapist and that people are upset about that.

Thank you for saying this because I feel like I've been taking crazy pills seeing people say it’s too harsh to call him a rapist and that he’s clearly atoned

I’m not interested in splitting hairs about what rape vs sexual assault is tbh and your whole post makes me feel a bit sick. Good luck to you.

Meg @wrappedinplastic.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
He went out of his way to obfuscate this, particularly to his femme colleagues. That isn’t the picture of someone who’s atoned for his actions. That’s someone who knew what they did was wrong and continued with his lucrative career anyway. Not shocking to see people do backflips to defend him.

Leftists love to start morally handwringing as soon as someone they deem “good” is outed. If this was some rightoid freak people would NOT be pushing the rehabilitation angle so hard. Of course rehab is possible but acting as if we know he’s atoned based on video essays is naive and ridiculous.

Meg @wrappedinplastic.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Seeing how many people are rushing to minimise what Jacob Geller did— saying he shouldn’t be referred to as a rapist and that he’s atoned— is sobering but not surprising. It’s rape culture at its finest. Anyone can be a rapist, even your leftie YouTube man

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills man, seeing people go “wahhhhh rape is too harsh a term, he’s not a rapist, not my video essayist!!!!”

Meg @wrappedinplastic.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
That’s crazy. Anyway, he raped someone. That makes him a rapist. Stop watering down what he did, it’s disgusting.

To each and every Jacob Geller defender out there spreading rape apologia, claiming that "it's been 10 years" and that "people can change", using the concept of "rehabilitative justice" to give him a free pass: fuck you. You are less than dirt. You disgust me beyond words

It’s so callous and frustrating as well, to see people be like “it happened ten years ago! He’s grown as a person!” as if that woman doesn’t probably carry the trauma of that incident with her every day.

Meg @wrappedinplastic.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Very weird to refer to confirmed rape as receipts. He made a career out of presenting himself as One of the Good Ones, and spoke about sexual violence on his channel many times. Doing this with awareness of his abuse is vile.Just because it happened ten years ago doesn’t make it less heinous.

Meg @wrappedinplastic.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Not to support that, as is their right. If someone doesn’t want to forgive him, that’s none of your business or concern.

Not having a huge ass YouTube channel isn’t “punishment”. He’s not entitled to be on podcasts and make a yearly salary from his fans who were, unbeknownst to them, supporting a rapist. He chose a public facing position & now these are the consequences. He admitted he was a rapist. People can choose

I don’t know the answer but I do know it isn’t “have a YouTube/Nebula channel with millions of subscribers and a patreon that makes thousands of dollars every month”

honestly this whole thread comes off so immensely rape apologist and it makes me sick to my stomach, shameful.

Meg @wrappedinplastic.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
oh so because he was drunk and it was a one time thing, that means we should all just let him move on with his life? He made a whole career out of being a public facing leftist with videos where he very specifically speaks about sexual violence, and yet he knew to keep quiet.

Also— do you not believe these women deserve to be given an option on whether they WANT to work with a rapist? Because I think that’s kind of bare minimum

Meg @wrappedinplastic.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Why are you so intent on giving a rapist the benefit of the doubt, genuinely? It’s fucking bizarre
120
Meg @wrappedinplastic.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
so women just shouldn’t be informed they’re working with a rapist every week on a podcast? are you for real? because he’s already had multiple women he’s worked with come out and say they’re deeply uncomfortable they didn’t know
110
Meg @wrappedinplastic.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
He works with multiple women. They deserved to know they were working with a rapist. You don’t get to decide he shouldn’t have to disclose that.

Yeah it’s awful, sorry btw, I hope that didn’t come across as sharp towards you, I just figure people who consumed his stuff want to know!

I wouldn’t recommend that, considering he just got outted as a rapist

Eoin got me into the Venture Bros about a year ago and it’s genuinely become one of my favourite shows in existence, it’s so witty, regularly makes me laugh out loud and has some of the best character writing and design I’ve ever seen in adult cartoons.
Three animated characters are shown in drawing form. The first is a large, hulking man with a blond buzz cut, wearing a navy turtleneck, matching pants and large grey combat boots. He also has double shoulder holsters for his guns, plus a knife in one boot. The second character wears the same outfit and weapons except he has shorts instead of pants and a matching navy hat. His design is based on Hunter S. Thompson, the writer. He wears sunglasses and has a 12 o’clock shadow and a cigarette on a holder protruding from his mouth. The third character is a tall, slender woman with dark red hair, tied in a ponytail. She wears black mini shorts with a matching top that has a large heart cut out in the centre, showing her cleavage. She also wears red calve high boots, star shaped earrings, red bracelets on both writes and her own shoulder holster for her gun.

A great thing about the X-Files was how every few episodes, in the midst of all the werewolf investigations etc, the show would remind you that Fox Mulder is cripplingly addicted to porn
