Growing up, my Opa and Oma had a sulfur-crested cockatoo. He was already an adult when I was a kid in the 1970s. He's still alive today, though my grandparents have long passed.

Yep the lack of detail is very modern. But they were talking as though Classic lacked saturation when there were a million examples to the contrary.

Palm cockatoos are so gorgeous! We don't have them down here (they're a far north thing), but we do have other black cockatoos in our area. Their crests just aren't quite as Dr. Seuss.

It was so sad! I still have the original in our database as an unused look, in the hopes someone some day will recover it (like they did that pink cloud serpent!)

I wonder if they'll change the non-druid form versions, too. Honestly, it makes little sense to me. The aversion to bright colours came much later, when model refreshes resulted in really bland new colours for old creatures.

There are also 4 'Witchwick' broomstick mounts. Each is available from the Shop in a pack that includes a matching set of witch-themed clothing. Or you can purchase the more expensive Hexed Witchwick Collection which contains all 4 Witchwick Pack sets for 2x the price but 4x the items.

Even worse here. No, thank you.

Screenshot of the 'Hexed Witchwick Collection' in the web Battle net shop. It depicts four WoW characters in new 'witch' themed gear (think sexified anime girl clothing with a stereotype witch theme) in pink, gold, baby blue and white, along with four characters riding broomsticks with the same themes and colour in the background.

I was curious about the Tauren leveling experience so of course I spent much of it taking screenshots. The glow of the sun just starting to set across Thunder Bluff is lovely. ☺️ #WoW #Wowforever

Doctor Who was another show that scared me as a young kid! I must have only been around 5 and watched an ep in black & white where the TARDIS had lost power and the door was open and Sontarans walked in. They looked terrifying and I don't think I watched it again until I was about high school age.

Also, I say "on" the sea rather than "in" the sea because the ocean is for terrifying sea life. I'll swim in a pool.

Rather than get a babysitter, my parents would take me to the drive-in, to movies entirely unsuitable for children, and expect me to sleep in the back of the car. Of course that didn't always happen :P I remember bloody dismembered limbs.

That's easy. The poster alone for Jaws traumatised an entire generation of kids in the 70s. I still can't go on the sea without thinking about all the sharks concealed beneath the surface.

Poster for the movie Jaws (1975) - a painting of a woman swimming on the surface of the ocean, but completely dwarfed by the head of an enormous great white shark, mouth full of teeth like daggers, swimming up beneath her.

Fishing in Auberdine. 🎣 The morning sunlight's peeking through the mist, its reflection shimmering across the water to greet you. With sea-foam tickling the sand an old anchor sits before a ship in full sail, making it's way to the dock. This is the in game immersion I love. ❤️ #Wowforever #Warcraft

Anyone else suddenly getting crashes around the Coiled Isle, at least around the central water? I've had to use the character move service twice already, only for it to happen again. It was fine up till now, just started today. (And yes, I've tried deleting WTF/cache/remove addons/lowest graphics)

So who's saving up $5 mill gold for the limited-time Fungal Strider mount, coming in 12.1.5? While it comes with mail & repair/vendor, you can optionally purchase auctioneer and transmog NPCs for 1.5 mill & 500k* gold, respectively. (*or you can buy an existing transmog yak for 120k gold 😜)
