A sweeping tour-de-force for the prolific German metal maestra. 8 tracks of expansive and anthemic melodic death metal tinged with black metal and progressive influences. Confident and heartfelt, another stellar addition to her flawless catalog

I've had this thing's built in attenuator at the ~0.5W setting and it's hitting 90dB, I need my neighbours to go on vacation or something so I can hear what it sounds like at full power

Very cool that my ISP is using AI agents for their customer support line where when I recite the error code on my modem the agent just says sorry they can't help and hangs up on me Good technology

Very bad at before and after pics but here are the few shots I did take during the maintenance of the Technics SL-1700

Platter removed and cables disconnected. Motor & control board visible. The goal is to replace tge main filter capacitor since everything else looks to be in surprisingly good shape.

Control board up close before replacing the main filter cap. Gave it an IPA wipedown and cleaned the switch & potentiometers.

Suspended chassis before the tonearm is removed. Relubricated the motor with light machine oil

Underside of the tonearm assembly. Gave it an IPA wipedown as well and regreased the cueing lever for smoother needle drops.

Rescued (purchased from an old guy getting rid of his hi-fi collection) an old Technics SL-1700 today Did a quick clean of the unit and set up the arm/ cart Thinking I will recap the motor board & relube the motor sooner rather than later
