Note to Democrats: Congress has significant power to alter the structure, rules and jurisdiction of the Supreme Court through federal legislation or constitutional amendments. They can change the size of the Supreme Court by passing an ordinary law, impose term limits and even impeach justices.

Even though all 50 states mandate vaccines for measles, etc, exemptions are allowed. In August, 2026, an executive order directed the Department of Justice to challenge states that restrict religious and medical exemptions.
