Today, our neighbour knocked on the door as he could see your little body in the field. I walked through his garden and carried you home. RIP Ripley, you beautiful, beautiful girl.

Ripley. From the first moment we saw you, we loved you. Rescued around 12 months old by the RSPCA and adopted by us. You raised Chewie from a puppy with your gifts, both alive and dead. Your nose dripped on us regularly with your wonky pipes. You were so gentle but also a deadly assassin. You died so close to home, looking like you were sleeping, no sign of injury or distress. God, we loved you. Our hearts are broken. Wherever you are, may your engine always be running, your nose dripping, and may there be plenty of mice.

So, we added gelatin to a pie they made, made pastry to bring home, & made a pie with pastry they'd made & chilled & brought that pie home to bake & add gelatin to. All well worked out & thoroughly enjoyable! Add to that a lunch of cheese, biscuits, salad, chutney & of course pork pie!

Last night, I wondered what the fuck the dickheads were up to. Chewie had a mouse. Turns out, the mouse was alive, & still is. Somewhere in our bedroom. Cleaned out the cupboard under the sink to find the (humane) mouse trap. It is now deployed with grated cheese & flaked almonds.

Chewie, aka "the dickhead" is a chocolate brown spaniel. Here, he is seen with tissue balancing on his nose with the head of a little mouse poking out of his mouth.

Popped down to Morrisons fish counter this morning, learned I should have gone yesterday as they do 20%off fish on Fridays, but I still declare this a success. Made some batter, deep-fried it, toasted brioche buns, and served with chips and salad and OH MY GOD! That was epic!

My daughter bought a ridiculous frog on a uni visit to China. She has carried it everywhere & he became a sticker. I would like to highly recommend getting your dino onto a pair of socks. One of the best presents i gave at Christmas!

Mine are generally not everyone's cup of tea. Creepy crawlies mostly. Right knee, spider each side. I've had two nails with a web on the back of my left arm, too, but it's difficult to get a pic.
