I appreciate the kindness! I was mostly memeing on an old GamingW-ism from around 2003 (I think) that could sometimes be taken too far and result in excessive convolution of map detail for its own sake. But it is good to be moderately thoughtful of repetitive tiling and inorganic landscapes!

it was not to be missed if you like sorta fantasy sorta sci fi games where there is an eldritch outer god in the sky, non euclidian fractal entities abound, and humans swooshing around fighting and slashing smooth-surfaced yet angular robots. because that was the aesthetic of almost every game

Rando passerby here chiming in because I wanted to share its name for anyone interested. "Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle" A parody of the "damsel in distress" trope set in a generic fantasy RPG-styled world's final dungeon, where the princess is smarter than all the monsters. Pretty amusing.
