experiencing probably the worst crush of my life and I'm absolutely not doing well. The worst thing about it is that I thought it was going somewhere but soon I feel like that person will tell me I got it all wrong. I feel so fucked up

Update: very frustrating!

Email from Bluesky:

Hi there,

We'd like to clarify that we removed your post due to policy violations in the attached media. It violates Bluesky's Community Guidelines on [Adult Content](https://bsky.social/about/support/community-guidelines#:~:text=Adult%20Content). We provide a safe space for consensual adult expression by requiring clear consent and stopping abuse.

For example:
- Do not create, share, or promote sexual content involving a realistic risk of death or serious injury.

Carta Monir:

I don't know how I possibly could have flagged clearer consent in that clip, considering I look directly into the camera and say, "I genuinely love this kind of thing. This is one of the purest expressions of self and vulnerability and intimacy that I have ever found. And it is my privilege to share it with you." The information in the post makes it clear - this is an art video, I credit my collaborators and it's linked to a website with a 2257 statement.

Does this mean that videos depicting sadomasochism will never meet the standard of your TOS? If clear verbal consent and contextual support of the consensual nature of the clip aren't enough?

Carta Monir:

Also for what it's worth, in that clip I'm being hit and poked with a dull knife that did not even break my skin. There was no risk of serious injury or death. Equating anything about that video to abuse is deeply frustrating to me, because it's a clip from my own project, consistent with my body of work and previous posts on your site, and I'm the one bottoming. I am not trafficking or exploiting or abusing myself.

Screenshot from the clip in question - Carta is looking directly at the viewer, topless, and a manicured hand is dragging the tip of a knife over her breast. A caption at the bottom of the video reads, "I genuinely love this kind of thing."

It's so funny to live in a world where somebody will fawn over some monsterfucking or giddily buy a print of my knights copulating to put on their wall in real life while social media websites keep going down the path of more censorship.

As a person in a managerial position at work, if you’re applying for any job and they use your social media platforms as a reference check that is ✨INAPPROPRIATE✨ And you should tell the hiring committee that before declining to go further in the hiring process.

It was Marcia who cut together the trench run sequence in STAR WARS, using every last second of FX footage, reducing the number of Luke's attempts on the port from three to one, and adding a "ticking clock" of the approaching Death Star. It's her savvy storytelling that makes the sequence coherent.

Bust sketch of the artist's original characters Ryou and Sabine, their eyes closed as their foreheads touch. Ryou's hand holds Sabine's cheek while hers rests on his arm, and both their expressions are somber.

This really is it, this is the part that keeps me raging against the machine. Every day of my career I’m shoulder to shoulder with incredible people, pouring their skill & point of view into the work they do, making choices that amaze and delight me. Bsky is apparently gonna start flagging whole accounts as nsfw soon so if you don't already know about your moderation settings, highly suggest switching nsfw from Hide to Warn; otherwise many creators will completely vanish from your timeline when they roll this out.

your expanded moderation labeling at the account level is making it impossible to tell whether an account is posting text or an image I have to gamble every time I click on the content warning now. this defeats the purpose of custom filtering on my end for those accounts. please revert until fixed

Like, what's under there? Is it a risque pinup drawing, which I'm fine with seeing? Is it a giant ejaculating wiener, which I don't want to see? Surprise! It's neither! It's a regular text post complaining about this change being really poorly implemented! :(

Labeling an entire account as adult content and hiding everything hurts way more than it helps. This is going to hurt the reach of adult accounts who have every right to be seen, especially when we can already label individual posts. This is nannying that handicaps our ability to reach our audience.

[oc, sabine] throwback to when i drew sabine in my favorite princess dress for patrons 🌹

Waist-up colored sketch of the artist's original character Sabine dressed as Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She is wearing her characteristic gold/yellow ball gown and has her long blonde hair partially pulled back in a bun, partially turned away from the viewer while looking at them over her shoulder with a serious expression on her face. A light blue rectangle serves as the background behind her.

I don’t “network,” I make friends. Other artists are not my competition, they’re my beloved peers and sources of inspiration. We all have the same goal; to share our art. I’m not gonna corporatize my human relationships with them. I am in my sandbox playing and I hope they join me.
