So, anyone who who follows me knows I have been having fun times at home with things in the roof. I'm at site currently... I have things in the ceiling. Today I get back from work, into my room and a not-good smell. I have dead things in the wall. But not any longer. It was an eventful evening.

I got a a lift down, did some CPR stints, helped put some things together, did my morning shift on the event, have got a lift home and have just had the battery replaced. Will take the car for a good run after this to ensure things are properly charged. Not what I expected this morning.

Not what I needed this morning. We have been volunteered to help with a 12hr CPR challenge (ie, do CPU on a dummy for 12hrs straight). Our erstwhile team leader volunteered us for the 6am session. I got up at 5:30am. Who knew that time existed on a Sunday.

And made it home. My 4:30pm flight became a 7:30pm flight earlier in the week, then 8:30pm, then 9:30pm earlier today. We started to board just after 9:30. Got a good tailwind though and were on the ground by 10:45. Then home. Now I get to experience my own bed!

After spending three and a half days on it, I finally figured out how to get things talking in our weird config across some switches. It won't work in out situation, but I at least now know how to do it.

I am feeling dirty. After spending two days trying to get a weird Cisco config to work, my boss asked Gemini, then I asked it. We both got different answers. The syntax it gave me with wrong, but it did pose an interesting point worth testing tomorrow.

That's a nasty shock. Turn on my laptop, enter my pin and get a lovely, "can not verify your pin, try logging in another way" try using the local account and get a "this account is locked out." I'm currently at site, two weeks without my own laptop would have me crawling the walls...

I was suppose to be on jury duty this week. Turned up on Monday, sat around for 2hrs and told to come back on Wednesday by a very apologetic judge. That's everyone come back, pre-jury selection... Come back today, sit around for longer, then up to the courtroom....

I am seriously peeved at Pokemon Go. Got to do a solo drive today and dropped in on some far away and isolated gyms. Can I claim them? No! The damn game is doing there "Everything is a raid!" thing. Everyone I came across is a raid, the raid expires and 3mins later, its back in raid. Argh!

Argh! Do the washing this morning, first sunny day we've had for a while. Put the sheets on the line. Get the sheets off. The fitted sheet as a very neat, tiny bird dropping. Annoying, but ok. The doona cover looked like a turkey had diarrhea. I am now washing sheets... again.

So, after humming and ahhhing for way too long I have got myself a VR headset, so not trying to figure that out. First discovery? Long complicated passwords. Nightmare when you have something over your eyes. Passphrases here we come, but they still need numbers and punctuation. Argh!

Why does it not surprise me? A few years ago big tech was adamant using someone else's work without compensating them was theft. Now, they need access to those works to train AI, so AI should have an exemption because they can't be expected to pay to train their models can they?

This was the weather here yesterday. Gusts over about 45km/hr are about 0.05mm or rain I think. Made it a very wet day on paper, but only about 5mm on the ground. I was just amazed at the consistency of the wind. We got over cyclone cat 1 wind speeds a few times and gusts up into cat 2.

The wind front they said would get here has arrived. Wind has picked up here to about 60km/hr, highest gust so far has been a bit over 90km/hr. I'm not sure how much rain we have because over about 40km/hr the pole my gauge is on rocks, triggering it, so it thinks we're at about 100mm now.

For the last week or so, around 2am there is a specific noise in the roof, then another around 4am. Not a scurrying mouse sound, more a dropping *thunk* sound. It is slowly driving me insane. Why can't I be a deeper sleeper?
