Lowering the Medicare age to 55 would cover about 42,000,000 more people, -about twice as many as the (also) popular Medicaid expansion

This doesn’t seem like an order to USE HB1. It seems like a prohibition Either way, this is a clown show, not a respectably governed election

AOC wants Medicare at age 55. Popular, amazing proposal!! It would be the greatest domestic policy achievement in 50+ years. Dem leadership need to develop a consensus on their healthcare policy goals. You can’t beat this proposal @aoc.bsky.social @sanders.senate.gov

The FCC’s explicit threats to ABC’s licenses is clear coercion in violation of the 1A. Similar threats were recently unanimously found to be violations by SCOTUS. Even Justice Thomas called those actions “ham-fisted. Here’s some facts from Vullo v NRA and then the FCC statement regarding Kimmel

Bad news, guys!! The Rep of my gerrymandered district says we can’t be against the new gerrymander anymore- because someone donated $. Gosh darn it!

Cutting sales tax generally helps the bottom 85%. Cutting property taxes generally helps the top 15%. Cutting income taxes generally helps the top 5%.

Oregon, Alaska, New Hampshire, Montana and Delaware have NO state sales tax. Missouri is a regressive state (super shocked face). We are close to the top 10 for state and local sales taxes combined. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sales_t...

Jeff Basinger @wolfraiseshuman.bsky.social · 06/09/2025
Every state legislature should be trying to eliminate SALES TAXES and replace it with other revenue streams. Sales tax is the most regressive. The impact is felt even more, due to inflation and tariffs. Republicans want to cut income and property taxes because they only care about rich people

Article IV Section 9 of the MO Constitution The 2nd sentence permits the Governor to convene session on “extraordinary occasions” while requiring detail of the reasons deemed “necessary.” The Petition says this is an issue of 1st impression, meaning the MO S Ct has not previously addressed it.

Pretty sure my Rep doesn’t know how districting works Your domicile determines your Rep. They make a map. You vote for new Reps, based on your registered domicile. The old districts are used until the new Reps are seated and sworn in. How would this mid-decade MO process change that?

Here’s just some of the reasons Missouri’s mid-decade attempt at gerrymandering is unconstitutional. You can only redirect once per census. (3 videos)

Here’s the CO Court saying NO other jurisdiction had made such an interpretation—allowing for multiple districtings per decade. MO should be working to ban gerrymandering. Show me one Republican Rep would wants to do it.
000
Jeff Basinger @wolfraiseshuman.bsky.social · 22/08/2025
Colorado interpreted its similar Constitution to mean that districting occurs once a decade NO states made decisions allowing districting to occur more often IN and IL were among other states making similar rulings The plain language says “when” it happens scholar.google.com/scholar_case...

Gerrymandering reform had tons of bipartisan public support It’s pathetic that Republican voters constantly call Dems hypocrites. If they ever used just a tiny bit of their energy to pressure their Reps to actually DO SOMETHING, we could fix it Point to a Republican rep who wants to fix it or STFU

Its unconstitutional. We had a census. The number of Representatives was certified to the Governor. The general assembly divided the state into districts. It’s done. You have to wait for a new census. No one, in 150 years, has claimed otherwise.

Jeff Basinger @wolfraiseshuman.bsky.social · 07/08/2025
The Missouri gerrymandering attempt is unconstitutional. You have to wait for a new census to redistrict US Congressional seats. Plus, I doubt a new map would be as compact as the current one, so it would not be as compact “as may be.”

Donuts are worth pretty close to a dollar now, so the meaning has become muddled due to inflation. Betting a mere dime almost makes it sound like you lack confidence! Maybe we are supposed to infer that the bettor now wins the donuts, instead.

That’s nuts. Your piece clearly indicates any of the 11 options would be great. You fought the Corley proposal. That was my stance too. People tell me Abortion Action resented my actions, so they didn’t endorse me. I tried to reach out to them and PP, talked with local people and was easy to find

I don’t get the anti-A3 arguments It barely won, and the “no gestational limit” option polled worse. Imagine how it would have done after attack ads! As the article concedes, A3 contains more rights than Roe Litigation would always be required to strike down laws. E.g. look at MI 2.5 years later

Without contempt power, judicial orders can be ignored. Trump wants the power to make and ignore the law in this bill. Yes, the tax cuts for the ultra-rich, loss of health coverage for 13.7 million and explosion of the deficit are also terrible.
