New additions of my bf's cats to our little family. Chester (the orange) and Hughey (the bigger tabby). Chester has settled in well with my kitties, him and Noah are becoming buddies. But Hughey is still a bit of a grumpy old man at times. They can mostly coexist at least lmao

We're doing great though! Settling into a work life balance routine, and have the house *mostly* set up. Still a major work in progress of course! And my activity may still be a bit infrequent. Kitties are settling in well together too!

My bf and I are closing the distance today, he'll be here at our HOUSE tonight. Its still hard to believe this is all happening! Its been a long, stressful road since the start of the year 🥹🩵

Settling into the new house nicely! Still a lot to do, but absolutely loving it so far. Having a home of my own, and my partner moving in next weekend? Couldnt ask for more. Despite the shittiness of the world, Im very happy 😭💙

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 13/05/2026

Yes! I havent been able to play it too much though because of all the move stuff. ;w; But i love Tomodachi

Im now officially a home owner and it feels surreal. I never thought Id be able to get mt own place beyond inheriting from my parents. But in less than a month Ill be fully moved in and my partner will be moved in with me too 🥹🩵

Definitely easier with a stylus! Takes a bit of getting used to, I feel like I could do better so I may revisit this another time when I get more practice. But it's overall not that bad

Got a stylus for my Switch so I attempted to make a Thorn for Tomodachi 👀

Got the house appraisal back, came in a little over what we're paying! Time to start packing 😳

Ive felt very disconnected from the fandom as of late, or social media in general. Which hasnt necessarily been a bad thing. Just shifting priorities in life I guess. Rather than feeling lonely its been very healing. Might be a response to doing what I can to stay sane in these times

030

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 29/03/2026

Very excited to be living with my partner soon though. I never thought this would be in the cards for me and I couldnt be happier with what's to come 🥺💙

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 29/03/2026

Still around btw! Just been very preoccupied with life stuff. Buying a house has taken a lot out of me, and preparing for the move is right around the corner. So been trying to take care of myself where I can

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

People being ignorant about the environment and animals isnt new, I know. Its kind of a losing battle a lot of the time to beg people to give enough of a shit to educate themselves. Mainly just needed to get that out of my system 😮‍💨

020

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

Its not their fault that they're in Florida. I dont like to see animals get killed either, but it isnt a matter of feelings. Rounding them up is for the good of the ecosystem of Florida, and will save more animals if that's your main driving point. Its not their fault, but it is ours

120

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

But the iguanas entering a topor state due to the cold is a good opportunity to help round up a lot of them. This isn't the time to play "rescue" because you're "vegan" or an "animal lover" that cant stand to see them get killed or hurt. Letting them stay in the Florida ecosystem causes more harm

120

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

I could go on a whole side tangent on other invasive species, like outdoor/feral cats and pigeons, but I digress. I will always ALWAYS preach about keeping your cars indoors. If you need a good example for why cats are invasive, look up the problems in Hawaii

230

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

Especially with invasive species. Almost all of them, accidentally or not, have been caused by humans. This is not a problem that will "correct itself", this is something we caused and should take a more proactive stance to correct. "Humans are invasive" is not an excuse

130

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

But the amount of people namely on tiktok Ive seen trying to "save" these iguanas from being frozen, and then defend themselves by being "animal lovers"....I love animals. But if you truly love animals, you have to give a shit about the environment and the impacts they may have on it

130

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

Green iguanas like to burrow, which can cause structural damage to infrastructure or even electricity. They eat crops. They carry samonella that can be spread to pets and humans. There are guidelines in place for a reason and drop off points to turn them in to be humanely euthanized

130

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

They disrupt the Florida ecosystem by creating competition for resources for food with other native species like smaller lizards, as well as local fauna. But i haven't seen people talk about how they disrupt humans too, if people dont give a shit about the environment

130

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

The fact that Florida is even that cold to begin with is a whole other topic of course BUT ANYWAY. For those that dont know, green iguanas are highly invasive to Florida largely due to the pet trade. And much like pythons, were released into the wild

130

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

Little rant time to get this out of my system. The amount of ignorance people have when it comes to invasive species really grinds my gears, and has been awakened by the whole "frozen iguana" thing happening in Florida right now

My baby boy has an elevated white blood cell count and is in need of an abdominal ultrasound. I've scheduled him for one on Wednesday, and am raising money to soften the financial blow. Please consider checking out my ko-fi shop and donating towards this goal: ko-fi.com/suncatstudio...
