New additions of my bf's cats to our little family. Chester (the orange) and Hughey (the bigger tabby). Chester has settled in well with my kitties, him and Noah are becoming buddies. But Hughey is still a bit of a grumpy old man at times. They can mostly coexist at least lmao

We're doing great though! Settling into a work life balance routine, and have the house *mostly* set up. Still a major work in progress of course! And my activity may still be a bit infrequent. Kitties are settling in well together too!

My first hunted shiny of ZA! I really wanted a shiny Mega Dragonite for my team after seeing it was blue. I named her Pascale after my dragon OC :3

Tower of Dawn - Sarah J Maas The other book I read in tandem with Empire of Storms, as they happen at the same point in time in the story. Of the two, for much of it this was the slower paced book. But that doesnt make it any lesser. It could be a nice breather. But also the character development?

100

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 29/08/2025

Empire of Storms - Sarah J Maas Yup, I did the tandem read, and it was so worth it! Of the two books, this one was pretty action heavy from start to finish. A lot happened, and seeing the main characters all come together finally in a found family sort of dynamic by the end? Amazing.

Talladega Nights This time on "movies my bf makes me watch with him after he learns I haven't seen them". I'd seen SOME of the scenes or knew some of the jokes here, but had never seen the source I guess. And what a ridiculous ride this was lmao. Some parts had me almost crying laughing 😂 8/10

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 14/08/2025

The Bad Guys 2 I really enjoyed the first movie, and happy to report this one stepped it up! Still has that wacky, high energy humor, and fun characters. But they upped the animation too. I loved that they leaned into the comic-like elements a bit more. And some scenes towards the end actually

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 14/08/2025

Queen of Shadows - Sara J Maas My favorite so far of the series, no question. I really loved this book, a lot of the characters blossomed more. First book where we have said goodbye to Celaena as she embraces herself as Aelin, and I think its handled really well. I also grew to really like Manon

200

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 14/08/2025

Project Hail Mary - Andy Weir This is my introduction to Weir and WOW. I absolutely adored this book. The pacing and the way it delivers its information. Even down the science bits. But especially the two main characters, Ryland and the other i won't spoil. I loved their friendship so much. 🥺

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 05/08/2025

It is time for the tandem read. Pray for me 🥺

Bye bye beach for another year 😢

010

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 15/07/2025

Heir of Fire - Sarah J Maas Admittedly the first quarter/half of this book was a bit slower to get through, but what kept me going was how things were building. And MAN did that last quarter of the book NOT disappoint. It made it all worth it in the end, and I really enjoyed Celaena coming over

200

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 15/07/2025

Inkworld: The Color of Revenge - Cornelia Funke Reading this book was such a treat. I love the Inkheart series, and Funke has been one of my favorite authors since I was a teen. It was so easy to fall back into her writing style and the world she created, it was like seeing old friends again

200

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 15/07/2025

Crown of Midnight - Sarah J Maas This is where things started to pick up a bit, with more mystery and magic surfacing. So I found this one more interesting than the first. I was a bit annoyed at the romance aspect of this book though, with the fake outs, the "ooooo who will Celaena end up with?"

210

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

Still in awe that this book exists, and that I somehow missed its release last fall! The Inkheart series was always one of my favorites growing up, and a contributing factor towards my love of fantasy and reading. The original trilogy ended when I was in high school. So needless to say I'm excited

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 05/07/2025

KPop Demon Hunters Soooo...yeah I absolutely got suckered into this movie lol. It's songs have been stuck in my head all week and I watched it twice. Yet another banger from Sony Animation, they've been killing it last few years. Such a fun movie, great characters, definitely give a watch! 9.5/10

Squid Game 3 I was lucky enough to not have to wait too long between the cliffhanger of last season I suppose. And what a roller coaster. A lot of the games and deaths were so intense, I love the way this show handles stakes and doesn't hold back it's punches. I came to really love quite a few

200

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

The Last of Us Season 2 Completely forgot to add this one, oops. Might be a little telling on my thoughts on it. I enjoyed the first two episodes, I cried a lot at *that* episode. And really enjoyed the Joel flashback episode. But other than that...the rest fell a bit flat for me without Joel

200

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 29/06/2025

How to Train Your Dragon 2025 Its literally just the original movie almost shot for shot, with some more mild changes. By that alone, it's probably one of the best live actions. But I have to question why it needed to be made when the original is still far superior. It's inoffensive at least 7.5/10

100

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 29/06/2025

Snow White 2025 I had little interest to see this while it was in theaters so just watched it now over streaming while sick. The acting isn't great, the dwarves are uncanny and creepy. But otherwise a very...meh remake. Not terrible, not the best. 6/10

Throne of Glass - Sarah J Maas Preface by saying that I am glad I read Assassin's Blade first. This book was okay as far as the first in a YA fantasy goes. Kinda heavy on tropes and themes, with the competition. But I really enjoyed the characters at least and I'm intrigued enough to continue 7/10

110

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 12/06/2025

The Assassin's Blade - Sarah J. Maas Its time. This had been sitting on my TBR for ages. Really enjoyed this and glad I read it first, and not after the 3rd book like some people say. I felt like it really allowed me to get to know the characters, Celaena especially of course. It had a lot of

Dune - Franklin Herbert Completely forgot I hadn't talked about this one yet, oops. Long time coming on reading this one, my bf finally convinced me to take the plunge. I'll admit it took me a bit to get into, the first part of the book I took my time with trying to digest a lot of the characters

Black Sails If you want a well acted, well rounded semi-historical drama with pirates, look no further. This show is criminally underrated and I never would have heard about it most likely if not for my bf. Its fantastic. Acting as a sort of prequel leading up to the events of Treasure Island

Blackthorn @wolfofthorns.bsky.social · 27/05/2025

Lilo and Stitch Live Action Have very mixed feelings on this movie. Probably the best part is Stitch, he's translated really well here and cute as ever. The actor of Lilo was also pretty cute. I liked the added scenes of them together. But everything else ranges from meh to bad.

Wheel of Time Season 3 Going to just be upfront and say i didn't finish it the last few episodes and don't plan to. I really tried to give this show a chance, but there were too many baffling decisions. And a lot of the characters imo not given their justice. I won't fault anyone that enjoys it

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Completely forgot to post this one. Watched it a few weeks back with my bf and we were genuinely surprised! It's a ton of fun and the production value was higher than you'd think. If you were on the fence about watching it like I was give it a chance

Ambessa: Chosen of the Wolf - C.L. Clark I went into this book pretty hyped, because I absolutely loved Arcane. If you're a big fan of the show or just want more League lore in general, definitely would recommend. It ended up having more politics than action, but still was very interesting. 7.5/10
