5. GXM uses Manifest V2, which isn't supported by Chrome anymore. sure other Chromium browsers may still have support, but if you wanted to support Big Bad Google Chrome the entire thing would need to be rewritten from the ground up for MV3, something i'm unsure is possible

4. GXM uses content.fetch() when downloading mods to act like the request is coming from the page itself. i'm unsure if this functionality is available in Chromium, and whether I can just use regular fetch() instead.

3. Chromium has absolutely no support for the "theme" and "proxy" apis at all, and "search" doesn't support search.get(). modded theme support, the dynamic recoloring of the ui, and address bar typing sounds would all be completely out of the question for a Chromium port.

as seen on MDN (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/theme), Firefox is the only browser supporting the "theme" api

2. since Chromium's renderer is different than Firefox's, the popup for the settings ends up looking a little off. the css would need to be re-done to get it closer to how it looks in Firefox, with the text scaling, slider customizations, scrollbar, etc. not the worst but still kinda wonky

1. since it was made primarily for Firefox, it ends up relying on a lot of ff-specific behavior. example: in Firefox "browser.storage.local.get" is a Promise, but in Chromium it's a function with a callback. all the GXM code is written using the Promise pattern, so rewriting it would be required

getting "trackName" from local storage in Firefox. the code is written like a Promise, using .then()

that same code in my messy Chromium 'port', forced to use callbacks instead lest you'd like an error
