You wouldn’t know it from listening to mainstream media, but socialism is more popular than it’s been for a long time, and both socialism and its most well-known leaders appeal to a diverse voter base.

According to Polls, Americans Like Socialism a Lot
A crop of recent polls shows that socialism’s appeal is surprisingly broad. They also reflect a transformed US political landscape that is ripe for a socialist politician to capitalize on — if they’re willing to step up.

States aren't just laboratories of democracy. Some like Montana and Hawaii have become the frontlines for saving our democracy from Citizens United and restoring power to the people. Read this piece from James Baratta in The American Prospect.

A recent survey found that 92% of U.S. adults have delayed or avoided medical care due to high costs. Meanwhile, a new study from Yale estimates that Medicare for All would save over 114,000 lives and $1 trillion a year. If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have universal healthcare.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

It is time to reorder our priorities. Not against the economy—but for an economy that protects life. For true prosperity is not found in our bank accounts, but in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the ecosystems that sustain us. What if we began to consciously strengthen precisely that? 🌱
