Graphic socks are the worst present you can get someone. Do I seriously look like someone who would want that? Cmon man. That’s an insult to my fashion intellect.

Hot take: it’s 2026 and if you’re still trying to co opt people’s grief with your nonsense anti whatever rhetoric, you’re about 20 years too late to be edgy and 20 magnitudes too stupid to understand the shit you’re saying.

As I spend more and more time working out, eating healthy, and playing games I realize that life is too short to bother with other ppls negative energy. If they want their social problems to be their identity, let them. Some ppl wear the albatross as a crown expecting you to bow down to their misery

wizardofloneliness.bsky.social @wizardofloneliness.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

I’d argue that the migration to discord servers where people would privately dox and shit talk more than do any productive community building led to the more insular and fractured state of the community. Some argue the music got stale. I’d argue that the decay which set in was antisocial tendencies

The enshitification of twitter is one of, if not THE, moment that vaporwave fractured beyond repair. Younger folks chronically online were more than willing to divide themselves on a bevy of topics and music genre affiliation was a distant priority compared to their drive for dopamine trolling

Hot take, just because you don’t like a genre doesn’t mean it sucks. Saying it’s not for me is good enough. If you want to get critical then critically analyze. DON’T just taste signal and walk off into the stupid sunset.

Seeing my music being enjoyed in the wild is…well…WILD! I have so many songs floating in my noggin and I hope that I’ll be able to continue sharing them for years to come! ❤️❤️❤️

Gotta be honest this one was really mid. Not bad, but definitely nothing to recommend.

Hot take: I’ve been sick of this shit since day one. NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS A MUSICAL. One of the defining characteristics of lost boys is the LICENSED SOUNDTRACK. If you like this shit, you lose your rights to like the original. It ain’t gatekeeping. We ain’t even on the same planet.

I want to talk about Grandia, and more specifically the idea of storytelling through gameplay. The story. Revolves around children trying to be adventurers and proving others that you don’t have to be an adult to make a difference. While Justin (the protagonist) is a child himself, his friend Sue1/4

The main defense for hitting or spanking kids I’ve heard is, well it worked on me. Did it? You’ve grown into someone who views harming a child as an effective way of educating them. The only thing it teaches kids is that violence is permissible if the victim can’t fight back.

wizardofloneliness.bsky.social @wizardofloneliness.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

It will always f me up that adults call people lightly pushing them away physical assault, but go home and hit their kids as if that’s discipline. So it’s not ok when someone your size touches you but when it’s an adult hurting a defenseless kid that’s fine?

Mosh pits are emptier these days. There is way too much space opened up and it just makes everyone look silly.

As much as I criticize the state of releasing in 2026, I’m still in it for the love of the genre and the medium. When I ask about costs for others I’m always hoping to hear something about where the passion for the hustle is. There’s a thrill to getting music out to people and working with artists.

ミレニアムハウス (millennium house) will be released as a cassette and VHS tape on Friday, August 21st over at Halcyon Tapes! The VHS contains a full visualizer for the album, created by as well as some friends in the slushwave community.

wizardofloneliness.bsky.social @wizardofloneliness.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

Here’s the brass tacks: running a vapor wave tape label is not very profitable unless you are one of the bigs or a bootlegger. The community is much different now than it was 10 years ago and not in a good way. Was it an Icarian inevitability that this would happen when we branched into vinyl?

Every person deserves love, but for some it will never come because the path they’ve chosen is hate themselves and project that onto the actions they take with others.

050

wizardofloneliness.bsky.social @wizardofloneliness.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

When I was younger I thought anyone could love me if I gave them my time. As I get older I realize there is barely enough time to love myself, but it is necessary to love oneself if one expects to love another.

wizardofloneliness.bsky.social @wizardofloneliness.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

Some people look dumb af smoking. Ain’t no way around it. You look like you suckin a stupid straw. Now other people? They look cool as hell, so they should keep puffin! (Assuming the only metric for success is looking cool)

End of the day: just do what really seems like it will benefit yourself and others. Ask questions. Be critical. Be joyful in your life.

020

wizardofloneliness.bsky.social @wizardofloneliness.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

Now not everyone feels comfortable doing that, or perhaps feels unsafe confronting injustice. I get that. But recording has scientifically been shown to aggravate situations, making them MORE dangerous. You stand to be harmed by recording, reducing how “comfortable” it rlly is

010

wizardofloneliness.bsky.social @wizardofloneliness.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

I do believe it is the responsibility of anyone seeing injustice to do something about that injustice. HOWEVER I personally find that directly addressing the offending party is best for getting results in instances of social rebuke.Ex:You say the n word.I call you out to your face.We talk. You learn.

050

wizardofloneliness.bsky.social @wizardofloneliness.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

When recording someone with the intention of posting, just ask yourself “who stands to gain from my surveillance?” In cases like a little known band playing a show, the answer is along the lines of “well they gain exposure and I get to share my experience, so we both win” but in social policing…

120

wizardofloneliness.bsky.social @wizardofloneliness.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

I believe in Carlo Cipolla’s framework for stupidity in which bandit behavior is defined as actions in which you gain, but the other person suffers a loss. When recording others without their knowledge this could be argued as some such exploitative practice HOWEVER…

100

wizardofloneliness.bsky.social @wizardofloneliness.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

Acab oncludes people who record and surveil public without asking permission and then post it online for personal gain. Social policing for the sake of likes on a post is scummy behavior. Are people wrong for some stuff they do? Yes. But does that mean you need to be a cop?

170

wizardofloneliness.bsky.social @wizardofloneliness.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

So we are fully in the late 90s 2000s era breakbeats and dnb huh? I guess it makes sense for #vaporwave to evolve but this growth is a bit interesting because the retro futurism being applied is simply recreating the sounds, not transmogrifying in any way. It’s a repeat, not a reimagining.
