Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Drought continues to expand and worsen across northern Wisconsin. This week sets a new record for the largest area in exceptional drought. Very little precipitation is expected in the next week, so things will likely get worse. 053

Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Tropical Depression 9 has developed over the Bay of Campeche, and is headed towards a northern Gulf Coast landfall by Friday or Saturday. Increasing moisture from the storm might make rain more likely late this weekend or early next week. 063
Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 06/10/2026You might've seen clickbait thumbnails indicating Wisconsin could be in the path of a tropical system coming out of the Gulf of Mexico. That won't happen. Wisconsin has experienced the remnants of some tropical systems, but a full-fledged tropical storm or hurricane has never crossed Wisconsin. 2102
Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Breezy southwesterly winds today with gusts up to 30 mph have brought in warm temperatures statewide. Highs have been pushing 80 in parts of the state. 031

Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Another chilly night in store, with most of the northern half of Wisconsin seeing frost advisories or freeze warnings for tonight. Now that it’s October, we’ve also started counting Chill Hours - the number of hours with a temperature between 32° and 45° - important for fruit production. 052
Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Chilly start to the morning with temperatures dropping into the upper-30s all the way down to Walworth, but things are warming up nicely. It’ll be a pleasant day today, with highs getting into the mid-60s. Great football weather if you’re in town for Badgers Homecoming. 031

Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 02/10/2026More cold weather tonight - with Frost Advisories and Freeze Warnings in place for northern and northeastern Wisconsin. It would not be surprising to see patchy frost into some of the more prone locations of central and southern Wisconsin, with lows dipping into the 30s! 261
Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Pretty good frosting across northern Wisconsin last night, and Grantsburg really bottomed out, where they've taken a pretty solid freeze with around 4 hours sub-freezing so far. 021

Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 01/10/2026On the flip side of the rain is the drought. We've seen a slight expansion in Exceptional Drought on this week's Drought Monitor, and a broader expansion of extreme drought across northern Wisconsin. 023
Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Wet morning in southern Wisconsin, with many of our stations reporting more than an inch of rain since midnight. If you've got your wipers on - make sure you've got your headlights on! It'll help other drivers see you. 031
Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 30/09/2026We'd certainly like to see more rain than this across northern Wisconsin, but we'll take every drop we can get to try and alleviate some of the drought conditions. New drought monitor comes out tomorrow morning. 021
Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Here comes the rain again...but it's once again missing the extreme and exceptional drought in northern Wisconsin. Expansion of the extreme and exceptional drought areas seems likely. 0105
Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Stop us if you‘ve heard this one before: We’re dealing with dense fog this morning across northern and northwestern Wisconsin. We’re in the middle of Wisconsin fog season, so pay attention to where the main foggy areas are - because they’ll likely be like that for the next couple months. 031
Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 27/09/2026It’s a tale of two halves of the state. The west side is mild, the east side is cool. Still dealing with a little fog in the eastern half of Wisconsin, so keep that in mind as you’re out and about this morning. 041
Wisconet @wisconet.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Break out the flannel…we’ve got low-40s all the way to the Cheddar Curtain. And with near 100% relative humidity and calm winds this morning, there may be patchy areas of fog, so take it easy on the roads if you’re headed out to the apple orchard for some fresh cider donuts. 241
