no offence to political journos but i have a memory longer than a goldfish so i remember TPM saying their voters should give their party vote to labour or the greens and therefore do not conclude it's an indicator of a "tight race" where TPM candidates lead and party vote intention is labour/green.

my understanding is that the split between fundamentalist and red greens is what destroyed the values party because the values party drew support from new-leftists who would have otherwise been within the milieu of the ineffectual feuding micro parties of the communist movement.

i haven't seen "AI" marking work well, one of my oomfs did a course paid for by their work and they used "AI" marking and failed them until they demanded a human reviewer, who promptly passed them.

The result: national govts, think tanks and universities refocusing AI evaluations to focus on highly speculative problems where there is no empirical evidence that they're possible - but lots of ideological reason to take them seriously, whatever the costs of the very REAL issues we then ignore .

We tracked the space financially, intellectually, and individually. Financially, 70% of the literature that disclosed funding was directly supported by EA orgs; 71% of the literature that didn’t disclose funding featured authors from funded orgs. We're talking hundreds of millions of dollars.
