⚠ PSA to artists and clients on #VGen about a Discord scam going around!! ⚠ a scammer is scraping profiles (both artists and clients) to make fake discord accounts impersonating them, then reaching out to people they've worked with in the past who have their discord info publicly visible

Would Sephiroth himself admit he's a victim? Probably not, post-Nibelheim he'd presumably laugh at anyone who tried to claim so. But this is FFVII, the unreliable narrator game. Just because a character says something doesn't make it the objective truth. It's not true for Cloud OR Sephiroth.

It's not that I subscribe to the idea that "it was Jenova the whole time, Sephiroth did nothing wrong at all", exactly. BUT I feel like people do not acknowledge enough that Jenova is a parasitic hivemind, and that Sephiroth clearly started acting off the moment he was in close proximity to it.

A thread of Sephiroth thoughts today. Something that's increasingly annoying me after many years in this fandom is how often I see ppl quickly jump to the conclusion re: Sephiroth's agency that "Sephiroth was in control, not Jenova" because "this ultimania said so" and "Hojo said so in the game".

Seen some talk of unethical fiction, so here’s my take

Three panel comic titled Unethical Fiction:
1. Made with AI
2. Printed on human skin
3. The author uses their profits to fund a hate group.

I've made the "Sephiroth and Reeve compare puppetry skills" joke way too many times, but listen. I will make it again and again. #ff7 #sephiroth

A large sign decorated with Reeve Tuesti and Cait Sith's faces, reads: PUPPETRY LESSONS

Sephiroth: (thinking) This is just what I've been looking for...

Sephiroth: Yes... Time to improve my technique! Let's go, Cloud!
Cloud: (hangs lifelessly under Sephiroth's arm like a doll)

Reeve: (holding hand puppets of Cait Sith and Vincent) No.
Sephiroth: (heartbroken, still carrying Cloud) But I haven't even asked anything, yet...
Vincent Puppet: FUCK no.

gamers being so poisoned with the pursuit of sorting companies or corporations into good and naughty lists has lead to the exact insanity of this moment as they try to reconcile every large studio and publisher being fucking awful to their employers in the same way regardless of their output

#🧵 i think... one thing that really bugs me whenever people say "angeal was a hypocrite", aside from the obvious ableism about him being suicidal, is that people seem to often expect supportive characters (and people, irl) to be unchangeable iron walls who need no support themselves

just gotta say though that july is being the worst possible month to exist not only my drive to write (for fics) has been so miserably low that i'm only managing a line per day at most, ec is closing and i can't even nab the achievements for that because they delisted the steam version immediately,—

things i realize will be an absolute shot in the dark for the gear visual database: cloud's and tifa's new year premium gears which were available only for people who forked over A LOT of money why must those exist? i wonder if some whale can save me lol

announcement! i'm going to build a visual database of as many pieces of ff7ec / ever crisis gear (and their related weapons) as i'm able! but, i will need as much help as possible, because the only gear sets i have completed are young seph's, young angeal's and big seph's! (1/2)

Wanting to engage theoretically with something that has ended is the natural habitat of fanfic and art, it is up to YOU to keep playing in that space with what you have. You don’t actually want an empty zombie of what you loved to shamble forever. Go get transformative about it, it’s good for you.

also i've never really got why people glaze either asgore or toriel as "the better parent" in deltarune when they both really, really suck at parenting, and the point of it is that it makes the dreemur's household a fractured one kris wouldn't be looking to go into adventures if it wasn't the case

i think that an immense part of healing is learning how to stand up for yourself and accept your own limits and needs "why is it ok for other people to say no to things, but not me?" is a thing you need to observe and tread through even if makes you want not to be yourself, sometimes
