Reminder that Physint was being developed with the full backing of Sony's resources, including Columbia Pictures, at their disposal to suddenly have the whole funding swiped + project threatened with cancellation. Whole situation sucks, even the solution that allows the studio/game to still live.

Gonna get my shot off while FGC folks are busy at CEO. Marvel vs. Capcom 2. IMO, it's a glorified official MUGEN that is busted mess, has a boring soundtrack, dull stages, and lacks personality and flavor beyond "Let's throw all these sprites we made over 6 years into a game". Far prefer MvC1.

The key part of GDQ's statement here IMO. Seems very clear that the story of SNK's ownership might've missed their purview, which makes sense if you're outside of certain bubbles. Rough spot for all involved, but a great move by GDQ regardless.

Saw discourse about Omega/MJF's 1-Count spot. The big thing that I want to add is that Omega's 1-Count spots work so well because they're less "adrenaline" and far more spite-fueled. Every instance of it can be seen as an insult to Omega, so the kickout is a "Screw you" right back. #AEW

With physical games going to the wayside, it feels so weird to be losing what was a cornerstone of my childhood. Coming home from school one day to see a Toys R Us bag that had Pokémon Gold and Silver is an enduring memory. A deep sadness in my mind that we see or experience less moments like that.

Saw some discussion about early picks for MOTY, and I don't think we're going to get a single match as masterfully done as this one sorry to say. Okada/Tanahashi delivered a feat that directly spat in the face of Father Time himself and gave, IMO, their greatest bout ever for Tanahashi's retirement.

It's kinda cool to see GG Strive rework just about its entire game systems with this 2.00 update. SF6 didn't do enough to change the game, T8 probably did too much in too many different directions, but Strive was focused on "lowering the power level + remove WA". More of this please.

Made a brief thread on the other site about why #PlayVF bugs me, especially in how players use it to badger other people (notably content creators) when their games have a bad patch, and then abandon them if they say "No". Let people express interest at their pace.

A post from Twitter in which I address the "Play VF" posting after the T8 and SF6 patches. Here, I'm reacting to a clip of PhiDX briefly going off on his chat about playing VF. I state:

"The reaction is hilarious, but it's also one of the problems with VF players begging other players to play their game and forgetting that this "form" of VF has existed for 16+ years. I'm all for wanting to bring people in, but badgering people about it only turns people off.

"Oh your game got a bad patch? Play VF!"

It kind of ignores the passion that they had for their specific game (and disappointment) when you pounce on somebody to play VF. It just comes off like you want another body on the game to "point-score" rather than being helpful.

I don't think the VF scene realizes how desperate it seems when you badger someone to play your 16+ year old game after another game has a bad patch. Comes off as a bad recruiting drive than anything organic because the minute they say "No", you don't care anymore. Vultures. lol"

Using this for a tech show-off from some drills and a recording awhile ago: Goh has a 2-frame window to actually deflect an opponent's throw with a single input instead of 3-way guessing a throw escape. This puts Goh into his Tsukami clinch, forcing a 3-way guess of his own. #VF5REVO
