We’ve added a few excellent old yearbook/handbook/souvenir brochure type things to the archive recently. www.flickr.com/gp/202272334... Stuff from 1924,28,49,55,66. Old stuff, with great content, and even pictures! I’ve written about it here leedsunitednostalgia.substack.com/p/yearbooks-...

Macca has uploaded The Hanging Sheep 11. It just gets better! Nick Stringer’s editorial sums up the mood in Summer 1990 as we prepare to hit the top flight after 8 long years. The prediction of an 8th place finish is wide! #lufc #mot #alaw www.flickr.com/gp/202272334...

As I’m a legacy fan, and still cling on to a memory (for now) I’ve started an infrequent series on Substack about ‘Things You No Longer See at Elland Road’. Number 1 remembers the Physical Season Ticket. #lufc #mot #alaw leedsunitednostalgia.substack.com/p/things-you...

I’ve written a few musings on Substack about the stunning Leeds City (1916) programme we were delighted to share recently. leedsunitednostalgia.substack.com/p/leeds-city... The programme can be seen in its entirety on Flickr (for free) www.flickr.com/gp/202272334... #lufc #mot #alaw

Completely agree. Proper fans won’t be fooled, but, as someone mentioned to me recently, it’s the relatives who think it’ll make a nice pressie for the Leeds fan in their life. Can you imagine the look of disappointment opening that atrocity when there’s so much great LU art out there?

I think last night’s poor atmosphere would be improved with the resurrection of the LUSC Dance Band. That’d get those wall flowers in the South Stand really rocking. From the 1928-29 ‘Official Souvenir’ - magnificent! www.flickr.com/gp/202272334... #lufc #mot #alaw

We are lucky to have a Leeds City prog. From 1915-16 war time season, it’s been taped & lovingly kept in a binder. A misprinted date on the inside page, should be 1916. I doubt there’s many City progs still out there, a real gem! #lufc #mot #alaw www.flickr.com/gp/202272334...

Vol 3 of the Leeds United Mag covered 96-97. New signings Martyn, Sharpe, Bowyer & Rush led to optimism. Then Wilko is sacked, George comes in. Publisher is changed so only 10 issues. But at least we got a funky sticker collection. #lufc #mot #alaw www.flickr.com/gp/202272334...

We complete the 50s home programmes with the 59-60 season, which ended in relegation. But on 06/02/60 manager Jack Taylor gave a young lad his home debut (due to another player possibly being needed by the Army!). The lad did ok 💙💛🤍 #lufc #mot #alaw www.flickr.com/gp/202272334...

Both issue 9 & 10 of The Hanging Sheep have hit our virtual shelves. Check out issue 9 here. Post Hillsborough, we have a narrow escape at Ayresome Park, thanks to a decrepit ground and shambolic policing. #lufc #mot #alaw www.flickr.com/gp/202272334...

I agree mate. Him and Billy weren’t great as managers (imo) and we were obviously desperate for them to succeed. Similar with Eddie, though I think he was a bit better as a manager than Sniffer & Billy. But for all three we don’t know what went on behind the scenes and the club was a basket case!

110

Leeds United Nostalgia @windymillerfiles.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

I’d not seen it either until my mate showed me it. I doubt you’ll see any on eBay. It’s lovely though 💛💙🤍

Leeds United Nostalgia @windymillerfiles.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

I’ve found this reference in a copy of Marching Altogether. But I can’t find the actual comments Clarke made about Jones. I have a vague memory of Sniffer being derogatory about Vinnie’s abilities. He was Barnsley manager when Vinnie arrived at ER but was sacked early Nov89.

1958-59 season was pivotal in the clubs history. We signed ‘An accomplished newcomer’. He made his debut versus Newcastle, and received a welcome in the following prog v Forest. A fine player, but an even better manager 💙🤍💛 #lufc #mot #alaw www.flickr.com/gp/202272334...

Following the token sheets, it’s season tickets. The plastic wallets disappeared mid 80s as cost cutting. They came back in the 90s, latterly adorned with players we went on to hate! Books became cards and now they’re on the iPhone. www.flickr.com/gp/202272334...
