Speaking as an arcade old-head, there is a small amount of joy that comes when someone about to leave is too lazy to take it back themselves, gives you their Aldi shopping cart as you are coming in. Quarters are quarters, no matter the era.

CvS2 Maki has the LP-MP-HP-HK chain that all Bushinryu have in other games. But both the HP & HK hit very high making them whiff against many crouching characters. You can use this to your advantage by buffering in a 720 and microwalking forward to grab. It works at all break points of the chain!

A quick thread in the replies with more math regarding the health recovery factor for Ratio 4 characters. The bottom line: Even in impossible best-case scenarios, R4 characters still have less effective health against a team of 3, and it gets worse the longer rounds go on. bsky.app/profile/wind...

At CEO 2025, Justin Wong entered CvS2 with a Ratio 4 C-Sagat. He went all the way to Grand Finals Reset but couldn't quite beat Bas in the end. Ratio 4 play is kind of a meme in CvS2. But what's the actual math? This pic represents what Bas was basically facing at the start of each game.🧵 1/14

Capcom has released a quick update for Capcom Fighting Collection 2 today! In CvS2, the order select screen in Versus Mode has been restored! This was a big omission which has thankfully been fixed quickly. Let's see what else Capcom will address moving forward. Patch notes are on the CFC2 website.

I failed to realize that the Thank You/Share Links page at the end of the CvS2 Community Survey was not enabled, instead dumping everyone who took it (thank you!) to a generic "survey complete" page. Got 425 responses on it, which is fine, but I was expecting 1K+ at the minimum.

Found this out on Max's CFC2 stream tonight: In CvS2 Versus Mode, you are NOT able to change character order between games. You can quick-select previously chosen characters, but it jumps immediately into the game after. This is a serious omission! youtube.com/clip/Ugkx6eG...

One thing I couldn't NOT see when re/watching the Mario Kart World trailer was how...expressionless? Luigi's face was. Other than small mouth moves/canned anims he was just looking straight ahead w/soulless eyes. Maybe Death Stare 2.0 was off the table due to that...OTHER Luigi?

This is why this translation project is a big deal. There's already an English version but it's missing SO MUCH, specifically the inter-team win quotes dialog. Having this restored is a massive deal. Thanks Derek and your A-Team!
