Due to heavy autumn and winter rains across central Australia, I predicted that it would be a bumper spring/summer season for budgies and cockatiels. Well, I wasn't wrong! There were 1000s of budgies and cockatiels at Gluepot. That's not an exaggeration. It was incredible.

A month ago today my wife underwent emergency gallbladder surgery; we found out only after that it had been necrotizing. A detail she says made her feel better going in was the moment one of the doctors noted vocally that they had an all-female surgical team, a rarity. Just wanted to share this.
