Linus in Memoriam #7 Linus loved to play jungle-cat in the summer, but mostly that entailed sleeping under bamboo and ferns

Linus In Memoriam #6 Linus was a master of space. In particular, his ability, for such an average-sized cat, to be able to take up the surface area of a large adult human on a bed, was second-to-none.

Linus in Memoriam #5 One year ago. Linus decided his new favorite spot was on or near the compost bin. Maybe it was putting off heat from all the decay?

Linus In Memoriam #4 Occasionally one would come across Linus standing like this on the dining room table, staring out the window either utterly blank, or lost in thought. He wouldn’t move for several minutes. I think of it as his “Jack Torrance” pose.

Linus In Memoriam #3 In recent months Linus enjoyed sunning himself on my roommate’s filthy car. It retained heat fairly well, and gave him a vantage point to keep an eye on the goings-on in the cul-de-sac, always a chief concern.

Linus In Memoriam #2 Linus had a thing for hoses. More than once I would come upon him cuddling with (or attacking) the garden hose. It was especially enticing if there was water running through it, which to Linus seemed to simulate life.

Today we say goodbye to our sweet Linus. I’ll post some remembrances in the near future but for now I’m too wrecked.

"I learned that just beneath the surface there's another world... I knew it as a kid, but I couldn't find the proof. It was just a kind of feeling. There is goodness in blue skies and flowers, but another force... a wild pain and decay... also accompanies everything." -David Lynch

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, or alice in chains.

Anyone who’s see Matthew Lillard in Twin Peaks: The Return can’t honestly say he doesn’t have acting chops. Dude had to deliver a lengthy, batsh*t insane monologue all while blubbering hysterically and he sold the hell out of it. He’s a damn national treasure.

Incidentally, lichens (as well as the “squat black monster”) feature on this shelf-talker I drew for a Robert Aickman display that I put up last week at Powell’s books. I dare say he’s gained a few new readers in the ensuing weeks!

I know you mean well, but Hayden Anhedonia is her name, not her deadname. Ethel Cain is stage name/character. Here’s a screen cap of the credits from her new album, and you’ll find further proof on her wiki.

Found a copy of the new book by @scottryanfmp.bsky.social while shelving at Powell’s Books! It’s about the sounds and music of #TwinPeaks which has always been one of my favorite aspects of the show, so I had to nab it! Congrats, Scott!

I’m a huge fan of The Last of Us games, as well as the series, so I waded into YouTube over the last couple days to watch over a dozen reactions to Sunday’s episode, and my conclusion is…the average television audience is a great deal more emotionally mature than gamers. Perhaps no surprise there.

Was happy to see that Ethel Cain is the first out trans person to hit the Billboard top 10, and it was solely with the recent, much-anticipated vinyl release of her album Preacher’s Daughter. I feel this is the best album about a downward spiral since The Downward Spiral. Picked up my copy today!

As I watch Britt Lower (of Severance) do media events, I am reminded of Kyle MacLachlan: neither are caught-up in how devastatingly attractive they are, nor are they afraid to look silly. Both are kind, goofy, and seem to just be happy where they are. Here she is playing Trumpet on Jimmy Fallon.

I was looking through the fantastic David Lynch art book “Someone is in My House,” and have been enjoying spotting little details that resonate with those in his films and work. For example, the little types, cut out letters here from around the time Lynch/Frost were cooking up Twin Peaks. IYKYK
