No. If you want to complain about iron mining, you can't tout wind turbines as an alternative, because they completely depend on that and a lot of other mining.

The only change in fossil fuel use in the US has been natural gas replacing coal. Wind turbines aren't making a dent.

Well well, the NY Times learns about infrasound's effects on health. www.nytimes.com/2026/06/17/u...

We had assumed the sampling was large enough to average out any signals of harm, but the article is behind a paywall and the abstract is uninformative. Acoustician Robert Rand has now reported that was indeed the case:

The money is simply refunding what the companies paid for the leases.

It's the companies' own money. What they had paid for the leases.

It was not "OUR taxes", but a return of the money the companies had paid for the leases.

The companies are getting back the money they themselves paid for the leases.

You can relax, because the money is what the companies themselves paid for the leases.

Not taxpayer dollars. It's a refund of what they paid for the leases.

Just presenting the facts. You mentioned US coal while ignoring China's much greater dependence on coal. Compare the above graph for China with this one for the US. And at 5.0% vs 4.2% of total energy from wind, China is hardly leaving the US behind in that dust.

China is a lot longer than a decade away from replacing coal.

National Wind Watch @wind-watch.org · 03/03/2026
And – at least in the US – gas continued to expand as wind was added. Gas + coal for electricity stayed pretty much the same, with more gas and less coal.

Need only 1 of these, its 2-km cable, and a transformer on the ground for every 10 homes in the US!

So cleaner, greener, cheaper electricity actually requires more infrastructure and backup support systems.
