A Refugee’s Heart I left my home not because I wanted to, but because I needed to survive. As an LGBTQ+ refugee, I have faced fear, rejection, and loss. We are being targeted by homo/ transphobic people. Children are denied education, no clothes, no food, no clear water, no medication. They are excluded in community. This has led to physical effects such as increased risk for certain health conditions and lead to social consequences like isolation.
