@andrewhickey.500songs.com can’t reply on your post, but funnily enough I have a similar theory my friend Sam wrote about recently in his long piece on greatest hits albums - loudandquiet.substack.com/p/bring-back...

Not now, Russian Plague Researchers. www.cnn.com/2026/10/04/e...
Russian authorities have imposed "anti-epidemic measures" after a laboratory worker at an institute in Siberia dedicated
to studying the plague and other infectious diseases died of a mysterious
illness.
The researcher, a 28-year-old female laboratory technician at the Irkutsk Research Anti-Plague Institute of Siberia,
in the town of Shelekhov, died after being diagnosed with a pneumonia of
"unknown" origin, according to Rospotrebnadzor, the Russian agency that handles infectious disease.

‘Creating a new silicon species’ is believing a rock is alive because you’ve drawn a face on it. I would like (hope) to think that what Suleyman is doing here is warning that we should stop drawing faces on rocks and believing they are alive and acting of their own accord. But that got lost.

Our quaint Sussex version, this evening. I ran a survey for the estate AGM. It’s like a homeowners association. But doesn’t work in the UK, doesn’t make sense. Anyway, we make do. The survey is mostly about nature watch and green spaces for wildlife. But several people wanted MOAR BENCH.

There is a lot of #wingspan being played in this house at the moment. Seems to be the perfect balance between play preferences. 16 year old likes long, complex things (eg Scythe, Root). 14 yo likes fast turn based, social things (Quacks of Q, Exploding Kittens). Wingspan a really nice balance.

Very disappointed with Gabriel Clarke - he skews Tuchel’s words to get a reaction from Bellingham. Shitty thing to do, rest of the press jump on it, now it’s the story that could, perhaps, derail England.
