So tomorrow I go to be scanned in order to find out if this goddamned cancer has spread to my liver. Fuck capitalism My cancer is 100% environmental. I grew up in a southern town before the Clean Water Act where all the chemical plants dumped their shit in the river. The City water supply.
Effluent discharge directly into river, brownish and turbulent, from a metal pipe set in concrete. Upstream the water is calm. Across the rover, blue sky, puffy clouds, and a green vista are visible.

A shiny hardcover book lying on a pink and green patchwork quilt. In the center of the cover is a painted wooden banner with the title in yellow text and the author's and illustrator's names in black. Small bines and leaves decorate the edges of the banner. Above that is a very large young girl in a pale blue 1820s dress, standing but bending over to look at the viewer. She is barefoot. Below her is a tree with dark trunk and green leaves, and a couple in 1820s attire, a dark haired man in a dark suit and white cravat, and a woman, her light hair coiled in a topknot, in a beige gown and jomding an axe. Behind them is a scene with hills and valleys.

TIL I learned that Count Rugen and Wanda Gershwitz have been sweetly and happily married for 41 years and the world suddenly makes more sense to me now 😂😭 💕🥰
Jamie Lee Curtis as Wanda Gershwitz in A Fish Called Wanda, woth fashionably cut brown hair, standing in a doorway with arms braced on the frame wearing red glasses and a black shawl. Christopher Guest as Count Rugen in A Princess Bride, wearing a gold colored medieval velvet tunic, silver metallic vest, a short beard touched with gray, his brown hair curled at his ears and parted in the middle. He is looking back over his shoulder as a helmeted guard stands in the background.
