Quick #Lanterns observation: TV shows & movies like to pin someone's behavior on their mental health. But just like Dex in Daredevil: having a mental illness doesn't make you a jerk. But *untreated,* it can definitely wreck your life and contribute to bad behavior. Everyone is different.

My theory (granted I'm just a journo, not an educator) but empathy is a learned skill. A lack of empathy means ingesting media, but you are incapable of self-reflection and/or compassion. The world has an empathy problem. Media illiteracy is definitely one of the causes.
