Stephen King’s IT (1990). Watched it at a third grade sleepover with my two best friends. We paused it to go make popcorn, and when we came back it started playing again at this scene. The VCR had an auto-play after 5 minutes setting. We didn’t know.

An aside about this heatwave LA is experiencing right now: It’s hotter than the ones we had this summer, but feels so much better because of the lack of humidity, and for that I’m thankful.

Just got out of the movie, and it was fine. I love Anne Hathaway bad, but like with all Colleen Hoover projects, the story left me wanting far more than she’s ever been able to deliver.

At the WGA Theater to take advantage of its AC, and also to see Verity. Some folks in the audience are debating staying for the late feature, Chris Rock’s “Misty Green,” just to enjoy the AC a bit longer 😅

This whole situation makes me so deeply sad. Angry, for sure, but mostly just sad.
A screenshot from the Nashville Banner story:

For the most part, witnesses said, Pike labored but did not appear to be in distress. At one point, she said a spot on her arm felt like it was about to burst open.

"Does it happen like that?" she asked Noechel.

"Relax," he told her.

"I'm trying," she said. She smiled and laughed, and a tear rolled down her right cheek.

I got back home a bit ago from Tennessee's execution of Christa Pike. We sat in the witness room for nearly 2 and a half hours as she received two rounds of pentobarbital. She was taken away in an ambulance shortly after that and I can't say for sure if she is dead or alive at this moment.
