Double‑pay problem — Britain pays billions to extract North Sea oil and gas, then pays again to import the fuels we actually use. That’s not “energy independence,” it’s a political illusion.

If you believe climate action, a fairer tax system, stronger public services, proportional representation, and closer ties with Europe should be higher priorities, the Green Party may be worth a look at the next General Election. #VoteGreen

One reason some voters are turning to the Green Party is that they combine environmental policies with proposals on housing, healthcare, public transport, and democratic reform. They offer a distinct vision for Britain's future. 🌱

The Green Party's message is simple: invest in people, protect the environment, strengthen public services, and build a fairer economy. For voters looking beyond the traditional parties, that's worth serious consideration. #GeneralElection

I'll consider the Green Party at the next election because they consistently champion environmental protection, electoral reform, social justice,& closer cooperation with our European neighbours. Whether you agree or disagree, they're bringing issues into the debate that other parties often ignore.

If you're looking for something different at the next General Election, the Green Party offers policies focused on tackling climate change, investing in public services, reducing inequality, and building a more sustainable economy. For many voters, that's a positive alternative to politics as usual

So, Tories would cancel Erasmus and youth mobility, scrap the SPS deal that reduces red tape, lowers costs and eases backlogs for goods trade and renege on our new energy, defence and security arrangements… Ridiculous threat, ridiculous party, ridiculous people…
Tories would reverse steps to undo Brexit
Alex Burghart, the deputy leader, also says his party is wedded' to triple lock and electoral reform is doomed

Funny. I cannot recall any "diplomat" seeing their net worth rise by roughly 📈 $100 million to $200 million since taking the position. Yet Jared Kushner has. So, spare me any BS about his job description. It has nothing to do with diplomacy.

The biggest risk after a heavy defeat is assuming voters were wrong. The smartest response is to ask why so many people who once supported you decided to look elsewhere. That is where political recovery begins.

williamdunn.bsky.social @williamdunn.bsky.social · 21h
Democracy works best when parties learn from defeat as well as victory. Any party that treats an election result as an error by the electorate rather than feedback from the electorate is missing an opportunity to improve.
000
williamdunn.bsky.social @williamdunn.bsky.social · 21h
Parties earn second chances by showing they have changed. If the Conservatives want to rebuild support, many voters will want evidence that the concerns expressed at the ballot box have actually been heard.
000
williamdunn.bsky.social @williamdunn.bsky.social · 23h
The lesson of a major electoral defeat should be humility. A willingness to acknowledge mistakes is often a greater sign of strength than insisting everything was right despite the verdict delivered by voters.
000
williamdunn.bsky.social @williamdunn.bsky.social · 23h
Many voters wanted competence, stability and honest government. If the Conservatives want to regain trust, they may need to spend less time relitigating old battles and more time showing they understand why that trust was lost.
000
williamdunn.bsky.social @williamdunn.bsky.social · 23h
Election defeats can be valuable if they force parties to listen. The question facing the Conservatives is whether they see their defeat as a message from voters or merely as an unfortunate interruption.
000
williamdunn.bsky.social @williamdunn.bsky.social · 23h
Political renewal starts with recognising where things went wrong. A party that spends more time defending every decision it made in government than understanding why voters rejected it risks learning nothing from defeat.
000
williamdunn.bsky.social @williamdunn.bsky.social · 23h
If a party loses power after years of stagnant growth, pressure on public services, political instability and declining public trust, the first step should be reflection. Too often, the Conservatives seem determined to repeat old arguments rather than learn from old mistakes.
000
williamdunn.bsky.social @williamdunn.bsky.social · 23h
The Conservatives suffered one of the worst electoral defeats in their history. Yet too many in the party seem more interested in blaming voters, circumstances and opponents than honestly examining the decisions that led to that result.

Supporting closer ties with Europe isn't just about the future. It's also about improving quality of life today for millions of older Britons who value easy travel, strong consumer rights and international cooperation. 🇪🇺🇬🇧

Retirement should be about freedom and choice. The easier it is to visit family, travel across Europe, or spend extended periods abroad, the more options retirees have for enjoying later life. #Rejoin

A stronger economy benefits pensioners as much as workers. Higher investment, increased trade and improved economic growth could help provide a more secure future for public services that older people rely on.

I support rejoining the EU because I want British pensioners to enjoy the same opportunities for travel, residence and cultural exchange that previous generations took for granted. 🇬🇧🇪🇺

Retired people know the value of international cooperation. Whether it's healthcare research, medicines, security, or tackling cross-border crime, working closely with our European neighbours helps everyone, regardless of age.

Many pensioners have children and grandchildren who want to study, work or live elsewhere in Europe. Rejoining the EU could reopen opportunities for future generations while benefiting today's retirees too.

Older people often depend on stable prices and secure incomes. If closer economic ties with Europe helped boost growth and reduce trade barriers, that could help keep living costs down over the long term.

The question for me isn't whether the UK should have a relationship with Europe. We always will. The question is whether we want influence over decisions that affect us. That's one reason I'd support a party committed to rejoining the EU. #RejoinBritain

Patriotism means wanting the best future for your country. For me, that includes rebuilding our place at the heart of Europe, strengthening our economy and giving future generations opportunities across a continent of 450 million people.

Rejoining the EU would not erase British identity, traditions or sovereignty. Britain was proudly British before joining the EU and remained British while a member. Cooperation with neighbours does not diminish who we are.

Young people have lost opportunities to study, work and build careers across Europe. I would vote for a party that wants to restore those opportunities and strengthen Britain's links with the next generation of Europeans. #RejoinEU

I don't support rejoining the EU because I think the EU is perfect. I support it because I believe cooperation delivers better outcomes than isolation, and because Britain's future prosperity is tied closely to our European neighbours.

The true cost of public services is not money itself but the real resources required to provide them: doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, buildings, medicines and energy. Money is the accounting system used to mobilise those resources.

Taxes matter enormously. The argument is not "taxes are unnecessary." The argument is that taxes serve economic and social purposes beyond funding expenditure, including controlling inflation and addressing inequality.
