If you think taxes are unfair, realize that businesses in the US have benefitted from being in a democratic country where people have money to spend. If you got to a forum to display your wares, they'll charge you a fee. Taxes are fair. Everyone has to pay, proportional to how much they make.

Why are you more worried about a few individuals than an entire planet? Forty billion a year could end world hunger by 2030. One hundred eighty billion could end poverty in America. More than half the US budget goes to the military industrial complex. Maybe spend better would be a more useful idea.

As I heard it, the president was clear: green light, but we soon make clear to Egypt and Europe what we expect in return. We also need to figure out how to enforce such a requirement. EG, if Europe doesn't remunerate, then what?
If the US successfully restores freedom of navigation at great cost there needs to be some further economic gain extracted in return.
