There's some weird scam here with packages. If you call for a package pick up, you have competition for who is going to pick it up, and sometimes you get two people trying to pick it up. It's insane. This just happened, so we prepared a second one in case the actual person comes tomorrow. Gods.

I feel that just like in stories, you will have to trade in some hard stuff for every good thing you get. But I would choose peace and empathy, everywhere. No fights over skin color or sexual orientation or gender. Actual fairness, without envy or discord. We would build a tower into the heavens.

I went to take a nap. Our youngest cat came in, meowed once, and accidentally burped up some water onto my pillow and my shoulder. Before I could respond, our oldest cat got in bed, examined the situation and gave me side eye. I got up, changed the pillow case and threw my shirt in the wash.

People are weird about animals. I just watched two minutes of a documentary about whales. It said it was terrifying that whale song might not just be sounds but might actually be communication. What's terrifying is that humans thought whales were just making random noises. For the fun of it?

We just came back from a walk during which T told me that there were two problems with my first draft and I said he might hate my revisions because I had made one of those problems more crucial and then I told him the entire new plot and he liked it. Ah desperation the mother of final drafts.
