Ralf Richter who played Frenssen in Das Boot has passed away. I had no idea that FM Einheit is his younger brother. He was expelled from acting school for being „uneducatable“ (if that translates to English) before getting hired for Das Boot. Rest in peace legend!

The problem started when someone decided to pin the volume for trailers and commercials at 85leq(m)/82leq(m) respectively. Which meant as a maximum and then became an almost mandatory target that producers wanted. That standard was and still is WAY too loud. It started the vicious circle, IMO.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.
