Red-vented Bulbul by the pool today - quite a few around and nice to hear their calls. #SriLanka #BirdsSeen2026
Side view of the bird perched on the edge of a raised pool wall. It has a black head with stylish ‘hair-peak’ which fades to a brown and off white body. Its tail is black but a flash of red near its bottom suggests that this is what the name is referring too….

Common Blue, Brown Argus & Small Heath all looking fresh at Taskers Meadow, Stockton this afternoon. Nt the best pics but in my defence they were very low on the ground! #butterflies
Side view of Common Blue butterfly with wings closed on Birds-foot trefoil. Spots very clear and in perfect condition. A but of a bottom view of a Brown Argus butterfly. Wings closed and face in the flower. Side view of a Small Heath butterfly on a yellow dandelion- great to have a green grass background again opposed to the yellow dry grass of last month!
