I caught a #meteor with terminal flash in timelapse at 5:06am MDT today from Crestone, Colorado USA #astronomy #astrophotography

On 29 September the allsky time-lapse picked up the two best looking possible meteors so far. I have a collection of the still images that I am comparing to confirmed meteors to see if I can identify a consistent look of them from the 20 second exposures the allsky takes. #meteor #bolide #meteorite

This is a target I worked on for almost all of September. The Dark Shark Nebula in Cepheus. I think I pushed my DWARF3 to its limit with this, I know I hit mine when editing it. This is 20 hours, 2400 subframes, and multiple editing attempts. #astrophotography #DWARF3

The Dark Shark Nebula is a dark nebula composed of dust that blocks out light. With a small smart telescope like the DWARF3 and bortle 5 skies, even at 20 hours the shape is only faintly visible before editing. After editing you can see the brighter area of dust on the lower right of the image that could resemble a shark. I had someone tell me it looked more like an angry opossum and I can't disagree. The rest of the background has a mix of much lighter dust clouds which adds another level of difficulty to editing.

The first three coyote encounters were in the morning. Then shortly before sunset a group of magpies descended into the clearing near my timelapse rig. A coyote came to investigate shortly therafter. Coyote enters on left, walks to middle of frame, sits a minute and then exits the way it came.

I had at least 4 separate coyote encounters, two in person and two on timelapse yesterday. We also had a rare hawk visit and rare Steller's jay visit.

The coyote is turned now and almost facing the camera, head still down as if following a scent.

The Triangulum Galaxy (M 33). This is a 9 hour 18 minute total capture from seven sessions over this month. I don't know what compelled me to start this when it was still very low in the sky and it was still extremely humid, but it still worked. #astrophotography #dwarf3 #pixinsight #space
