I saw someone say "abolish copyright" because it only benefits the wealthy who can afford the legal disputes & that those with less than have been fine navigating agreements without it, and... I'm curious to hear what others have to say about that.

Something I didn't fully grasp until I mapped it out — your PRO only handles one type of royalty. performance royalties. that's it.

Email consent. SMS consent. Data processing. Third-party sharing. These are four separate permissions — and most artists are treating them as one or ignoring them entirely (I know I've been guilty of it).

I didn't build The MUSIC OS because I love databases and despise spreadsheets. I built it because I've watched too many talented artists lose money, lose opportunities, and lose collaborators — not because they weren't good enough,

I didn't know neighboring rights existed until embarrassingly recently. Turns out there's a whole royalty stream from radio play, TV broadcast, and public performance of your sound recording — separate from the composition royalties your PRO collects. Different rights.

The problem for indie music admin, visualized: You become the integration layer. Copying, pasting, reconciling. The work should be in connecting the silos. Leveraging what the Agentic era is thrusting upon us, to close the gaps & let it be the integration operator for all our administrative needs
