Susan Collins sent these lawless secret police goons and the rogue Trump paramilitary they work for $70,000,000,000 in JUNE -- after they'd killed two Americans with impunity. She says her vote was for body cameras but that's an obscene lie. Cameras were 0.03% of the $70B appropriation. #MEpolitics

One day after the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and the National Association of Evangelicals came out against the Pentagon’s plan to livestream an execution, Pope Leo has published a tweet reiterating the Catholic Church’s opposition to the death penalty.
Pope Leo XIV • @Pontifex• •4h

The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption.

Count on James Myall @jamesxmyall.bsky.social to bring light to the backstories on economic issues facing Mainers. "Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” cuts $2.7 billion from MaineCare, and 28,152 Mainers will lose coverage." So many of these cuts take effect *after* the midterms. #VoteAccordingly
Fact Check: Senator Collins’ rural health fund falls billions short of what the One Big Beautiful Bill takes away

By Mark Shaffer | MECEP Action
October 8, 2026
The four things to know:

Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” cuts $2.7 billion from MaineCare, and 28,152 Mainers will lose coverage.
Senator Collins promotes the Rural Health Transformation Program as the fix. Maine will receive just $950 million at most, $1.75 billion less than it loses.
Of the $190 million Collins touts for this year, 96% of the money goes to out-of-state telehealth providers or administrative services like billing, records, and AI integration.
Over the next decade, Maine faces a net loss of about $2.67 billion in health care funding.

Former Watergate prosecutor and US attorney notes that while Susan Collins has done a lot of hand-waiving in response to the corruption revelations in @propublica.org's bombshell report...she hasn't actually grappled with or refuted the substance of what's presented in the article. #MEpolitics
Daily News column:

Maine Senator Susan Collins will be forced in four upcoming debates with her Democratic opponent, Troy Jackson, to address the facts reported in ProPublica’s bombshell exposé that she accepted illegal campaign contributions from a government contractor in exchange for help with a Pentagon deal. To date, her response has been limited to attacking her accuser as a liar for cooperating with the FBI to deflect voters’ attention away from his incriminating testimony.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Collins denied without a factual response the detailed ProPublica allegations that she had accepted donations from defense contractor Navatek in return for millions of dollars in U.S. Navy contracts:
