Women are often not listened to and are disrespected at work and even once they become self-employed, that doesn’t end. #feminism #workforce #labor

It’s been a sad week, but I’m still going! Dolly will be missed and so will Tim Curry. This evening I saw a gorgeous and giant cloud. Recently been working more on these paintings. And a spider has been spinning its web above my patio. ✨🦋

It appears that YouTube is going to move its goalposts once again for monetization, likely pushing me out of making any money from my wildlife garden channel. I make very little as it is, but it’s nice to have to supplement my income. If you want to help, you can watch, like, & comment on my videos.

Feeling a bit of art block / burn out coming on or something…😩 but at least I drew a decent moth, I guess…I don’t get art block very often at all. So when I do, it is so painful. 😣 Sending hugs to my Bluesky fam. Everything else I tried to work on today felt and looked like shit. 💩

One of my ironweeds in my backyard is double my height and almost reaching the roof! 😍 It’s right near a downspout, which could be why it’s extra tall… The swallowtails are gonna flip when it’s fully bloomed!

Skippers on (non-native) Verbena bonariensis ~ I have some native verbena (now called Glandularia canadensis - found in middle TN, not necessarily found in east where I am), but I’d like to get some Verbena simplex or Verbena hastata, too. 🩷💜🩷💜🩷💜 #butterflygarden

Golden-reined Digger Wasp [Sphex habenus] ~ Photos can’t capture the full golden effect these give off. They appear very shimmery, golden, and almost look like they glow. This one was loving the mountain mint. 🥰

I thought this was an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail at first, but it’s actually a Spicebush Swallowtail! There were two different Spicebush swallowtails in the garden that day. The other one is not pictured.

2 Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterflies I saw within the last few days…the dark form is a female and the yellow is a male. (Yellow is not always male, just fyi…smaller overall size/ small or no “blue mountains” = male)

I love exploring the Halls Greenway…so many different things to see every time! ✨By the way, this is the place that flooded recently. It was amazing how deep and widespread that flood was within this park! But it’s back to normal. 😊 #wetlands #habitat

Partridge Pea {Chamaecrista fasciculata} and (I think) American Bumblebee…there were loads of bees, large and small, on these plants this morning, creating that satisfying buzzing audio we love. 😌🌿✨🐝
