I implore you to find a community that makes you feel seen. Your soul and your work will thank you. P.S. Not sponsored. I just love the mission of coliven.com and want to help the creator, Marin Petrov, take it as far as possible. (3/3)

In our busy and often alienating world, it is becoming harder to simply connect with a fellow human. Whether you build software, create art, or review tax documents, everything we do eventually boils down to human connection. (2/3)

The quality of your input defines the quality of your output. I recently found coliven.com, a place to plant your feet in "social soil" for a little while, or a long while. (1/3)

Here you go! 🙌 If you liked the post, please like, share, comment, and follow me. It really does help. Andrei's story shows how you can really just... make stuff! Your idea doesn't have to be grand or bombastic to be useful, and this product is this type of small, yet very polished gem. Cheerio!

Q4: Any tips for future indie hackers? A4: Do not overthink. Launch your MVP as fast as you can and start improving it after the launch. It's much simpler to build this way because you'll get a lot of user feedback.

Wiktor Sienkiewicz @wiksien.bsky.social · 11/12/2024

Monetization via sponsoring spots is not easy, to be honest; you have to look for new advertisers all the time, and it's hard. I've already come up with a new feature idea for my upcoming project (Listing Cat) to help other founders with this issue...

120

Wiktor Sienkiewicz @wiksien.bsky.social · 11/12/2024

A3: I have a lot of competitors, and making it paid from day one would kill this app. Such a service can be monetized with paid plans when you have a solid user base.

120

Wiktor Sienkiewicz @wiksien.bsky.social · 11/12/2024

Q3: Why the sponsors idea? Wouldn't you rather make people pay upfront for your service? What do you like about this kind of monetization?

120

Wiktor Sienkiewicz @wiksien.bsky.social · 11/12/2024

Q2: How long from the first line of code to finished website did it take you to make BM? A2: 48 hours. The MVP was ready the day after I opened the Bluesky API docs.

120

Wiktor Sienkiewicz @wiksien.bsky.social · 11/12/2024

Q1: What was the thought process behind BlueskyMeter? How did you come up with it? A1: I was just playing with the Bluesky API, and analytics was the first idea that came to my mind.

If I ever get to having my own place i would like to have a garden with herbs like mint, thyme and others so I can just come into the garden and pick fresh herbs off the bush. Come to think of it I probably could do it right now in just a pot, on a smaller scale.

I was asked to take care of family cat of that aunts house (rest of family went on vacation) and I went in the room where the aunt spent most of her time while sick. It feels so weird to look at belongings of dead people. We leave so many marks of our presence after we are gone.

During covid, my whole family got off lucky, no one died, no one got fucked up bad. Only my aunt died due to breast cancer, but that was indirect since probably she had harder time getting treatment for it. ...

One of my favorite polish paintings. I do be feeling like Stańczyk sometimes. Thanks for reading.

000

Wiktor Sienkiewicz @wiksien.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

Stańczyk's role as the "fool who speaks the truth" highlights his wisdom and foresight, representing an individual who sees the grim reality when others remain oblivious. It's a tragic piece, because even though "Stańczyk" knows the future, he cannot act upon it in any way.

100

Wiktor Sienkiewicz @wiksien.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

The piece reflects Matejko's commentary on Poland's historical struggles, particularly the nation's decline and loss of independence following the partitions.

100

Wiktor Sienkiewicz @wiksien.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

The painting portrays Stańczyk, a famous jester from Poland's Renaissance era, sitting alone and contemplative during a royal ball. His somber expression contrasts with the festive atmosphere in the background, symbolizing a deep concern for the state of the nation.

100

Wiktor Sienkiewicz @wiksien.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

Polish art history time! "Stańczyk," painted by Jan Matejko in 1862, is a powerful depiction of melancholy and introspection amidst political turmoil. Thread below.
