Damn and blast it. Updating the firmware on my TonySA seems to have gone bery wrong; permanent white screen and pushing updates via DFU doesn’t seem to help as the device sticks in reset. 😬

Here’s a question for officianados of 1960s and 1970s sci-fi art…I am trying to remember/rediscover an artist I once had a book of art by. It was sort of Roger Dean/Jim Burns work but he also made collage; much of it deeply weird. I know he did some album art but I cannot remember his name. Help!

Today I am testing out the Smith Watkins cornet that I coveted. It’s a 30+ year-old instrument which has been extensively refurbished and plays like it’s much, much younger. As much as it pains me, I really like it, the way it plays and the sound it makes is superb. Oh dear!

Tomorrow in The Exchange, Sturminster Newton, Dorset there are a set of concerts concluding the 2026 Wessex Band Summer School. Three bands will be playing, the Training Band from 1100 and the Wind Band and the Brass band set up together from 1500. Superb musicians all. Be there or be square.
