Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 12/08/2026This game excites me endlessly. I have a few players who are big Souls players but also artists and writers. They are going to eat this game up ❤️ 120
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 07/06/2026Ha. I read this thread on Reddit too and just shook my head at their responses. They state they have played other rpgs but also misunderstand what you’re saying fundamentally. “But what about dnd?” seems to be their only frame of playing rpgs. 000
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 09/05/2026Oh yeah. I meant it’d go better because I have a better grasp of “the conversation” and stakes setting but that’s a good reminder to avoid over prepping in a BitD situation. 000
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 09/05/2026Same. I walked away from the first (only) session thinking “do I even know how this game is supposed to work?” It’d *probably* go better now with a bunch of CfB under my belt but still was a “run nothing for a few months” experience 🙃 110

Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 26/12/2025I never dread running a cfb game the way I used to dread dnd and others. The prep is so straightforward, even when it’s a bigger prep time like the siege or a final mystery/threat. I am regularly running two different (cfb) games a week and it’s still less dread 😁 071

Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 13/11/2025lol that thread had some very… interesting takes about pbta. On both sides. Though tbh “pbta” means something different to everyone and I think it short circuits a lot of good discussions when people use it as shorthand for everything with mixed success results. Those terms are funny though. 140

Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 23/09/2025That’s a great suggestion. I went C++ to PHP to the deep dark Perlish waters personally, but C++ to PHP is a good bridge. Lots of familiar concepts and structure but much more loosey goosey with types (at least PHP 5 was). I have since clawed out of the abyss to the comfort of Python 😅 040
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 20/09/2025Haha it me. Three cfb games under my belt now and no slowing down 🙂 020
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 17/09/2025Brindlewood Bay is a gem. Running a second campaign of it with some completely new to ttrpg friends and it is just so fun. And the cosmic horror is brilliant to drip feed initially into full blown cosmic entity over a campaign is just fantastic. 010
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 05/09/2025This has also been my experience introducing your games to four friends who had never played ttrpgs before. They universally “got it” straight away. Friends who had played DnD before with me took a bit longer to latch onto the idea of a conversation and collaboration. 150

Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 19/07/2025After reading By Endurance We Conquer, sat down and started actually writing down a CfB 2-3 shot game that’s Holes but what if the counselors are a cult doing a cthulu/dragon(?) summoning instead of finding a treasure. Idk if it’s gonna *work* but it feels really fun in my head 😇 030
Reposted by WigginnsAlexandria Ocasio-Cortez @aoc.bsky.social · 03/07/2025I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy. I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this. 34849982621744
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 29/05/2025They, of course, leave behind their phones because they’re trying to “reconnect with the primal man” (or some shit). What if they basically could have just left whatever terror they run into alone but feel some need to “out-predator” it as the “alphas”? Lots of angles of approach here 😀 070
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 07/05/2025Big congrats on getting both games out. Very excited to give them a read through 😁 110

Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 25/04/2025I can’t help but wonder if the positive reviews and especially word of mouth hype around the game is boosting its late launch on PS. It’s a known “good game” now instead of unknown (probable) cash-grab IP schlock 140
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 12/02/2025Holy shit, I love it. That move is so perfect for the idea of telling a tale to your grandchildren. Fantastic 010
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 30/10/2024Oh and the “free version” is a truly complete game you could (and lots of people have been) running for years. My group is a bunch of gamers and the levels of roleplay evoked by this game is unmatched. Every single sessions during debrief someone highlights something about the system that they love 020
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 30/10/2024Some of the most fun I’ve ever had running roleplaying games in my life. The game loop perfectly accents the “roleplaying game” part of #ttrpg “Playing to find out what happens” is truly such a good time as a Keeper or player. Check out the free version and back the crowdfunder. #thebetween #cfb 171
Reposted by WigginnsJason Cordova @jasoncordova.bsky.social · 29/10/2024It's the 10th anniversary of Too Many Cooks. Fun fact: the part of Brindlewood Bay where you narrate the opening credits of the episode, which then get creepier as the campaign progresses, is directly inspired by Too Many Cooks. 35312

Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 24/10/2024Fighting the game because I refused to use (or sometimes learn) the rules. Biggest example being balancing fights. I always used a calculator for encounters the would eyeball it, panic, and adjust (sometimes mid session). I could have gone by the book but I knew that might not serve the story 000
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 24/10/2024Great read. Personally, moving recently into the CfB space (Brindlewood bay and etc), the game part of these games requires more roleplay than for example 5e and thus we do more roleplaying gaming and have great stories from these games. I hadn’t realized how much I was fighting the previous game 100
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 24/10/2024What do you want in a new system? I recently started running brindlewood bay (and other cfb games) after burning out on 5e and it’s been a joy. Less prep, more roleplay, buckets of collaboration. Playing to find out what happens. Possible downside really gotta have a 4 players or fewer 120
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 24/10/2024What if you just run something different and invite them? That worked swimmingly for all three of the games I run. “Hey I’m running Brindlewood Bay next. It’s about grannies solving murders in New England. You in?” 120
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 20/10/2024Running dnd always wiped me out. Other games it varies. CfB (Brindlewood bay etc) games leave me on a high and I usually need time to calm down before bed 😅 010
Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 16/10/2024Oops. I replied to myself. Anyway, it’s super easy honestly, it’s basically not even baking. It’s just mix, divide and steam. I used 28 ounce black bean cans 110

Wigginns @wigginns.bsky.social · 13/10/2024I think the best GM section I’ve read is Brindlewood Bay’s Keeper and Advanced Keeper sections. It gives very direct ideas and examples about how to use the mechanics of the system and also how the game should FEEL. It’s specific about how to ramp that feeling up with the game’s mechanics.feel.how 020
