One gets to the point at which one values the family they've chosen, I had a similar upbringing, those people are dead to me now (well, one to everyone else too!) Not only did they say the organ would get me nowhere, the systematic psychological torture still hasnt totally worn off.

5 ranks out of the 7 now playable ! Trumpet and Tuba left, and percussions - however already gives a very good account of its self.

Busy busy day today - had a very busy open day with people coming to see the stage we've reached with the installation of the Compton !

Hammond Spinets you cannot really give away - with perhaps the exception of the M3, I had a lovely T500 years ago - don't need one these days considering the amount of others we have.

Very interesting movie - played the preshow for it years ago when I was organist at a theatre back home, unsettling certainly.

"Action" as a word to me only really means the "Action" in an organ, it doesn't fit well with British English in any other usage, and I don't think its overuse originates here.

I'm sorry you're not more local - would take you on straight away !

I think my favourite use of a gun as a plot point in such works - is the use of the "Gonne" in Pratchetts Men at Arms - where the sinister nature of such things are explored in his usual style.

How's he doing ? Not heard from him in an age - he also plays the theatre organ.

Its all very sad at the end, well, bittersweet, but each time I get to the end, I just start over when I feel it - his writing was such that you can read and reread them ad-infinitum and still get immense enjoyment.

A busy day yesterday working on the "Melotone" on one of our cinema organs, the historic electronic part of a Compton cinema organ - odd alien sound but a very useful tone colour, big thanks to @jencen.bsky.social for making sure it doesnt pop and bang !

So, this was posted in the 2026 conbook about the equipment that I have built and operated for Confuzzled for over a decade. I am in a good position in that I haven’t signed any form of NDA so am not restricted in stating what has happened. With no prior discussion i was invited into a meeting with

Busy day organ tuning and fault finding yesterday, as well as the first pass of tonal finishing on a dutch street organ.

Been thinking of trying one of the furry roasting places - as I know there are a few that make good coffee, do this lot roast it themselves or just distribute ? Also MUST know where that mug came from !

I was given this post credit sequence late in the game and I was very happy with how this came out. I admit I do best when I have a small amount of people to work with and I really do like working with F.Y.N.N. as that has been some of the more rewarding shoots. I also lean into film looks.

And with that, draws to a close Furality 2026 - what a wonderful time was had by all of our group, without who all of what we do at the Springs wouldn't be possible, and without who I wouldn't wish to, either - here is to the next 12 months <3

Absolutely spectacular set by @junot.bsky.social ! Took a gaggle of the Springs regulars along with, apparently somewhat of a surprise to them I was into this genre - yes, I do more than just organ music ! Would love to see more of this kind of thing in VR Spaces.

Great panel from @tokensarcade.bsky.social just now, always tickles me how much arcade cabinets of the 80s have in common with (especially) Japanese electronic organs of that time, especially those by Kawai, JVC and Yamaha.

I would say come and learn musical instrument restoration - however you're somewhat far away !

Having a wonderful time at Furality this year as ever - a nice break from organ-land ! Though I did have a heap of emails to deal with for enquiries for new clients today, its going to be a busy year !

How much of this is actually real ? I can hear celestes, 16ft basses, and i'm sure toward the end 16ft and 32t reeds, which are very obviously not there among the pipework.

After AI has cropped up more than a handful of times on my feed this week, entering into situations in which it is not welcomed, I count myself highly fortunate to work in a job that has never even heard of it - almost all the instruments are 100 years old or more, and no smart tech in sight !
