Honestly if you read the actual technical blog this is almost a nothing burger.. Only people with almost no understanding of normal internet tech (yes, 'normal'), and fundamentally not understanding goal direction and scope in stochastic models, would think these incidents are significant.

🤦‍♂️ how is OpenAI responsbile for this?? presumably there is a human actor or using institution behind the agent, whether setting the initial goal, or directing it to access that information. Also forgive me for being skeptical of "politician says / *claims* something highly technical" kind of press.
