The NYT reporting on the Cornell case continues to be inflected with bias and victim blaming. Someone explain to me how this reporter reached the conclusion that Jane Doe was just upset that she was being “used” when in fact she had already told the Cornell police she had been raped.
In her lawsuit, she said that she was
"incapable of consenting" to even that initial sexual encounter because of severe inebriation. She asserted that the two men had forced sex on her and called it an assault.
In the transcript of the police interview, she had a more complicated reaction. She said that she was upset and hurt that a man she liked was using her.
She added: "I was a sex doll for all intents and purposes, which is sad."
