Absolutely love Zines Are Back! by @violetbfox.bsky.social, a funny & fascinating look at how the rise / fall of zines has been depicted by mainstream media over the past 20 years.
Cover of the zine Zines Are Back! by Violet Fox, formatted to look like a newspaper with a color image of a zine fest and column heading, "A History through Headlines."

Every short for "Saturday Night Live" is its own new mini-production. These "pretape" sketches (fake ads, music videos and other shorts) go from a writer’s imagination to TV in a few days. They have been part of "SNL" since the beginning. Here's a behind-the-scenes look.

From Dr Ainehi Edoro's Forest Imaginaries: How African Novels Think
Too often, literary scholars rely on categories like realism, romance, and modernism to make sense of African storytelling, without recognizing that there are limits to what these categories can reveal about African fiction itself. Realism, for instance, is a set of norms and conventions tied to Europe's specific historical trajectories in politics, form, and aesthetics. When applied to African novels, it invariably positions them as deviations rather than writings with their own distinct logics.

So many people urge us to vote if we are dissatisfied with our democracy. And yes voting matters. But as today’s Supreme Court ruling tells us, it’s not that simple. Not everyone who should have the right to vote can exercise that right.
