Base for the Megaboss is partially sorted out! Need to do a bit more blending of things, but I have to let the Vallejo terrain goop dry first. #buildthestash #warhammercommunity

Today's workbench update: Half of a Spires Vanguard Clones box is built, I've got some Ironjawz Brutes on deck, and the previously assembleds bits of the Flying Hive Tyrant are off to the side with sprue goo drying as I want to make sure there won't be any noticeable seams.

Workbench update: there's a fair bit going on. Some things being cleaned up for assembly, some subassemblies waiting to dry so I can see if they need sprue goo to remove seam lines, and several items needing some sort of basing so they can be called assembled! #buildthestash #warhammercommunity

I'll go with the crashed Aquila Lander I painted in 2020/2021. I get the feeling it's going to take a bit more than some buffing to fix the problems this lander suffered.

Here's all four of those Talon Games CAV:Strike Ops bunkers together. I'm still debating which of the four I like the most, but I really do like how the green-blue one turned out, as well as just how earthy the orange one came out. #minipainting
Four 10mm scale bunkers next to each other. One is green-blue, one is hot pink, one is burnt orange, and the last is a fiery orange-red.

Fourth of four Talon Games CAV Bunker test schemes is done, this time an attempt with an initial idea of "burnt red" that went it's own way. Once again, the goal was for textural variation, but also for it to look good under room lighting as well as painting lights. #buildthestash #minipainting

Third Talon Games CAV bunker is done and dusted! Original idea was something vaguely along the lines of "burnt orange" and I wound up with something that was sort of that, sort of rusty, and sort of earthen. #buildthestash #minipainting

I'll take some better photos once it's primed and prepped, so here's some close ups of the Warp Lightning Cannon. I'm looking forward to painting this, as the Warp Lightning Cannon is actually what drew me to the Skaven decades ago! #buildthestash #warhammercommunity #skaven #ageofsigmar
More or less front view of the Skaven siege weapon. Went with a bit of a Crazy Taxi inspiration on this one, not quite as much as I did on the Screaming Bell.Left side of the Warp Lightning Cannon. Hopefully the roller texture will be easy enough to see once paint comes out, I didn't mix quite enough greenstuff to have things be as deep as I'd like. And the other side of the Warp Lightning Cannon. I was originally going to go with temple floor blocks like the Screaming Bell, but things just starting coming together as a big rock, so I left it as such.

Skaven Vanguard's built, whoo! Crew for the Warp Lightning Cannon will be a very rare case of being painted separately simply because otherwise you literally won't be able to paint most of the model if you follow the instructions. #buildthestash #warhammercommunity #skaven

Fox workbench update: as per tradition, I wanted to add a bit of flair to the Warp Lightning Cannon's base, so it's going to take a few more sessions to sort out, but it'll fit in alongside the Crazy Taxi inspired Screaming Bell, so I'm not complaining. #buildthestash #warhammercommunity #skaven

Workbench update, terrible phone photo edition! Last Stormfiend is assembled, basics for the bases of the last two sorted. Even did some nice 45 degree bends for the brass rod for one of them because of how the feet are. Now to wait for things to dry. #buildthestash #skaven #warhammercommunity

White Werewolf Tavern has a lot of sculpts that work rather well with various dioramas, but I especially liked Oleana, since there's a number of ways one can portray her full sized sculpt. Here's a WIP of where I am with mine, on a 5x7" oval base, for example.

Already got a few ideas rolling in my head for that 1:35 Kodiak, so I'm bringing some CAV terrain pieces out from the stash to sort some of the canonical ones out first, then a few twists I think might work well. Pity I didn't order extra turrets during the Kickstarter. #buildthestash

Okay Wulfe, box shots are nice and all, but what's in the bleeping box?!?!?! Fine, fine. First and foremost? We've got instructions, written up like they're from the books - NICE! There's also five bags full of resin parts, but the most interesting one to me was the cockpit upgrade one...
Assembly instructions, written as if they're from a technical manual for Heavy Gear. They cover the basics for newcomers too, which is a nice touch. A few pages in it even has information regarding the model's in game lore and specifications, and even better, continues onwards with the sculptor's information, still written as if it were in game lore, which was a really nice touch to see!Five bags full of various resin parts that will make a Heavy Gear. The parts for the cockpit upgrade, which basically allows you to show the Gear pilot inside the gear. It also has the option for a second head, which is a really nice touch.

Package containing holy grail model has arrived. It'll be a few days before it's opened due to yesterday's treatments making an N95 a no go right now. This fox is just a wee bit hyper! May or may not have posted from the ceiling due to refusal to comply with gravity from excitement about package.

Slower progress on today's workbench update, due to recovering from yesterday's treatment, but also because sprue goo takes a while to cure. Yay for making large gaps go poof! Will I have to stop looking up the name of this unit (Stormfiend) before it's fully built? Probably not. #buildthestash

I agree, taking one's time with things is a great approach. A lot of these are slow burn projects simply due to their size, and my neck is the biggest factor as to what gets worked on. My current focus is on trying to finish up the dragon bust for The Cerulean Project.
70mm scale Taurus from Yehdaro Models. Armour is mostly finished, but there's still plenty of work to do with his skin, hair, cloth, his maces, and of course, the large stone he's standing on, looking out towards something in the distance.1:56 scale Dictator B from Talon Games. Hip piece was sawn into three pieces in order to have a much more dynamic pose, as I want to have it running down a hill, bearing it's guns onto an unseen target in the distance, about to fire it's first volley.Verminlord Corruptor from Games Workshop. Sculpted the base to look moderately like a ruined temple. Model has been primed and underpainted, now to just have the time (and energy, plus cooperation from my neck) to paint a larger model, as it stands about seven inches tall.75mm scale Oleana, Werewolf Priest from White Werewolf Tavern. Vignette/diorama is of her stepping into a mystic grove, with a small water feature at the bottom. There will be a small Japane Inari statue in front of the stairs, and quite possibly also a stone lantern somewhere in the background. Along the back, the plan is for a scree or talus waterfall, taking inspiration from the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail in Japan.

Today's workbench update: didn't get to spend much time at the bench due to appointments and all that travel time to and from the game store, but I did get that Stormfiend assembled, and started on the third one. I feel this one's going to get something whipped up on the base. #buildthestash

I do like the BenQ e-reader lamps that I have, ESPECIALLY because they can put out such a low amount of diffused light (I'm light sensitive, and have light triggered migraines), but at their price ($320 CAD typical) there's way better options on the market nowadays for most people.

I run a similar setup (Ikea Tertial lamps + Philips UltraDefinition bulbs) on my airbrush booth, although I haven't had a chance to actually test this yet, but hey, cheap and efficient, and I already had the lamps lying around.

My go to setup is a pair of Ikea Tertial lamps with 60 watt equivalent Philips UltraDefinition bulbs inside them, and 7" diffusion cloth covers placed over top of the lamps. Total cost is something like $80 CAD with GST and does the job better than the BenQ e-reader lamps I have on the workbench.

I typically use brass rod. I'll use Taurus as an example. While I pinned each piece together, I also (not pictured) put long pins in from the base rock through the 20mm of cork and into the pine base just a lil bit. For plastic bases, I'll do a small l-hook under the base and superglue in place.

Sixty this year! They get counted as assembled when the model is assembled, and initial basing is done, as I like to apply things like Vallejo terrain paste, or use texture rollers/stamps. Essentially if it's ready to be washed and then put into the queue for airbrush priming, it's counted.

Yup, I like to have a few extras on hand. Main reason is it sucks to run out in the middle of doing something, but probably the biggest reason is so I don't have to restock during the winter, when it's twenty below. I stock up on spares of my most commonly used acrylic paints too (not pictured)...

Apologies for the low resolution, it's a photo from my 1992 Corolla SR5 taken in 2005 or so, which had the 4AFE in it. Looks like the battery's hot wire branched off into three separate lines in this case, so I'd suspect similar for the 4AGE. Hoping to find Hayne's manual to confirm this.
