The seventh of August, 2026 marked the fifth anniversary of my R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 reverse engineering efforts (in today's lingo this is what you call a "decomp") and I want to share with you an update on the current state of the project, future plans and a couple of thoughts.

Window's file property dialog showing the folder that contains the projects data, it is called "Ridge Racer Type 4" and is withing another directory called "Reverse Engineering". The the date of creation says "Saturday, August 7, 2021, 18:09:38". This is the date I started working on the project.

Nintendo Switch 2? Looks like you need to switch 2 another console, or better yet, switch 2 a better form of government so that your games, and your eggs don't cost 300 smackers. you've got egg on your face, from when the president smacked you, so face the music. Wii Music.

I hate the term "ethical hacker" so much. Imagine if e.g. scientists went around clarifying that they were non-evil non-mad scientists, lest we assume otherwise by default.

Watching the documentary Jodorowsky's Dune, and my favorite reoccurring gag is that every time they introduce someone new, they confess that they've never read the book. Then Giger shows up, the only one who's read the thing, to point out that the movie wasn't a very faithful adaptation.

Giger concept art for the Harkonen fortress in Jodorowsky's Dune. It's a giant, nightmarish sculpture of the Baron Harkonen, with biomechanical elements.
