A dreamlike composition in bright colors and many layers and depth. Some shapes are recognisable as flowers, blue, yellow and red. The background in blues, greens with splodges of orange and purple. Surrounded by the flowers there is a darker shape with a vertical stripe of light blue next to it, maybe a door? and at the same time the impression that the whole scene could be under water. A Garden of Infinite Choice indeed.

An apricot rose blooming in the golden light of autumn, its softly unfurling petals glowing in delicate shades of peach, warm yellow and blush pink. The richly layered, cupped flower is set against a softly blurred background of green foliage.

Life will give you reasons to lose faith in people, but then someone comes along and reminds you that good hearts still exist. Genuine people, pure intentions, kindness without an agenda. Don’t let the wrong people make you cynical about a world that still has so much good in it.

Monet n'est qu'un œil, mais quel œil ! Paul Cézanne
Claude Monet: Poplars on the banks of the river epte seen from the marsh 1892

A vibrant Impressionist painting by Claude Monet depicting a row of tall poplar trees with slender trunks and lush foliage in shades of green, blue, and hints of autumnal orange. The trees stand against a bright blue sky with soft white clouds. The brushwork is loose and textured, capturing the play of light and shadow across the landscape. The foreground shows a grassy field in warm tones, suggesting late afternoon sunlight filtering through the leaves. The composition emphasizes verticality and the rhythmic repetition of the tree forms.

human noise grows still when the wind is just right. I'm laying in bed watching the transmorphing skies while listening to birdcall and the white noise of rain. A small body ridden by an unknown disease against mine, soft noises emanating. A rare, short time of peace wanders warm in my mind.
Most of the lower frame is black, a chimney sicks out, a pigeon sitting on top. Uneven lines in front of itRaindrops on a window, a roof with chimneys blurry in the far back. A small bright part of sky behind the roof, the rest gradually blackening and grey

The painting depicts an impressionistic sunset over a waterfront city. Vibrant colors like orange, red, and yellow dominate the sky, while the sun appears as a bright circle on the horizon, its light rippling on the water. In the foreground, boats and figures moving along the shore are visible in outline. The silhouette of an urban skyline with towers and buildings stretches in the background beneath a colorful, almost fiery sky.

Macabrescu’s photography inhabits a strange threshold where reality seems to reveal a hidden interior. The mystical does not escape the real; it emerges from it—through silence, decay, bodies, shadows, and fragile gestures. Her images make the familiar uncanny, as if reality itself were dreaming.

From Autumn to Winter . Japan. Photography by zeissizm on Flickr
Crouched low against the cool stone pavement, a young woman curls inward to shield herself from the gathering chill, her arms wrapped tightly around a heavy, charcoal-knit sweater. Her long dark hair cascades forward like a gentle veil over her brow, while scattered, pale autumn leaves lie dotted across the weathered concrete beneath her. The shallow depth of field softens the urban backdrop—a stone doorway and worn building steps—into a quiet, painterly blur of mossy greens and muted slate. The photograph evokes a deeply evocative sensory atmosphere: the sharp, biting draft of early winter wind sifting through dark fabric, the dry, papery rustle of fallen leaves drifting across cold stone, the tactile contrast of coarse wool against chilled skin, and the quiet, solitary refuge of turning inward as the natural world slumbers. Created by the photographer known as zeissizm on Flickr, this atmospheric portrait captures the distinctive optical rendering associated with classic Zeiss lenses, celebrated for their three-dimensional subject separation, subtle micro-contrast, and smooth, painterly bokeh. In Japanese cultural consciousness, the passage of seasons (kisetsukan) carries profound emotional weight, where the melancholic transition from late autumn (aki) into winter (fuyu) marks a period of introspection and stillness. The composition captures this subtle seasonal threshold, framing the human figure not in opposition to the elements, but as a vulnerable, delicate participant in nature’s annual decline.
