Maiden Pink is a rare plant in Lincolnshire and occurs in just 3 tetrads in the county. First discovered at Whisby in 2007 cuttings from the main colony were planted in front of the viewing screen Teal Lake 2 years ago and are now flowering for everyone to enjoy. @lincswildlife.bsky.social

A very good evening on Teal Lake today! Only the Wood Sand was present this morning so the other birds (other than LRPs) presumably dropped in during the day.

Another good migrant day at Whisby NP. D Jenkins had Black-tailed Godwit on Thorpe Lake and a Spoonbill briefly (2nd Reserve record, first was 10 years ago in 2015!) before flying off north east and Sanderling on Teal Lake (first record since 2019). Also Hobby and 2 Common Tern present #lincsbirding
