loved to the point of invention (hair sticks and claw clips) [ #jayvik ]

viktor is looking over some blueprints, shirtless, with jayce at his side wearing his blacksmithing apron. they're both sweaty from the forge. jayce is staring at viktor, not looking at the paperwork at all.

Viktor: Jayce, I need your opinion. This diameter should work in theory, but in practice I keep having to increase it by a few centimetres.
Jayce: Hm... That is odd, yeah.

jayce reaches into his pocket, looking for something.

Jayce: Have you - hold on one second - have you thought about changing the metal? Maybe you're having a density issue.
Viktor: I mean, I could... I tried to account for that already, though. And then we might have an issue of uneven heating. Do we have anything with a similar melting point?
Jayce: I think we do... Or I could work on mixing an alloy. (Oh, there it is!)

viktor keeps talking, crossing his arms. jayce is holding two hair sticks between his teeth and is gathering viktor's hair into a loose bun.

Viktor: Ah, but then we have a problem with the conductivity!
Jayce (muffled): D'we?
V: Probably, considering I ran the numbers for this and not anything else.
J: You can j'st run them ag'n.
V: Ugh, but I don't want to - what are you doing?

jayce admires his handiwork (and his husband). viktor is unconcerned with his hair and has no idea what that was about.

J: Nothing.
V: ?
J: What do you think about using brass, love?

Querencia, pp. 1-4 [ #jayvik ]

Viktor (narration): It was a surprise to both of us that we had survived.
(jayce and viktor embrace in the astral plane)
V: We each had our theories:
(they are shown waking in some unknown space; Viktor is back to having a human appearing body.)
V: I believed that we were scattered within the arcane itself, adrift in its current like leaves down a river. Our physical forms were perhaps mere illusions held together by memory.
(viktor tucks a lock of his hair behind his ear)
V: Both his recollection,
(jayce looks down at him, smiling fondly)
V: and mine.

Viktor (narration): Jayce believed that we were reconstructed as best as the Hexcore understood how.
(a chalkboard with many sketches of jayce overlapping each other, each with an arrow pointing towards the next)
V: But with so many disparate parts needed to fix our mangled bodies, we had become intertwined with many different universes.
(jayce and viktor speaking; jayce is leaning on a table, viktor is sitting on top of it, holding a book)
V: Our working hypothesis met somewhere in the middle. Regardless of the specifics,
(viktor opening a portal with many runes floating in the air; jayce has his hand around his back, supporting him.)
V: We wasted no time exploring the nature of my connection to the arcane.

(a series of vignettes from their travels; jayce and AH viktor looking over a landscape, jayce and human-viktor hiking up a mountain, AH viktor and jayce using magic with jayce reading spells from his book, human-viktor and jayce holding glowing stars)
Viktor (narration): We have traveled throughout dozens, and dozens, of universes.
(a ruined, overgrown image of Piltover)
V: Some familiar...
(jayce and viktor looking at a strange, flat, geometric animal)
V: ... Others, entirely foreign to us.
(jayce sits on the floor with his knees brought to his chest, looking miserable. viktor is reaching a hand out to comfort him.)
V: It was harder at the beginning. The mind struggles to make sense of it all, the body reels in protest.
(the two of them standing, their backs to the viewer)
V: but now, it takes only a few days to recover.

(the acceleration rune, with several other runes in white floating around it)
Viktor (narration): In every timeline, in all possibilities, we search for answers. Runes and technology, research related to the arcane, signs of divinity...
(the galaxy explosion in the astral plane; the spirit blossom tree)
V: Whatever will help us understand what happened to us,
(a luminous, human-shaped figure with an indistinct face; its chest is full of hexcore-ized holes, and its limbs appear like a map of nerves)
V: and what we have become.

Xerneas Viktor x Buneary Jayce #jayvik #arcane #crossover #pokemon #myart

Designs of Viktor and Jayce as the Pokemon Xerneas and Buneary, respectively.

Xerneas Viktor looks like a cross between the Arcane Herald and a stag. His body is purple-tinted metal and he has a gold brace on his right front leg. His torso and legs have more of an astral plane multi-colored texture with little tiny stars. His antlers are hexcorized gold with pink, blue, purple, and yellow webbing. The antlers are also overgrown with Arcane foliage--tiny leaves sprout here and there, and tendril-like vines hang down in some spots. These are colored an alien oil-slick green. One eerie orange eye is visible. He still has his signature mole under this eye.

Buneary Jayce--specifically, Shiny Buneary Jayce--is a little brown bunny with a large pastel pink puff for a body. His little feet are also pink puffs, and he has one more pink puff on each bunny ear. He looks like a Sanrio character. An arrow points to him with the label "24 year old man.*

A little speech bubble with a red heart extends from Buneary Jayce. In turn, a distorted speech bubble with a red heart and multiple other hearts of different colors glitching in, extends from Xerneas Viktor.

Digital sketch of Arcane Herald Viktor sitting on a cushion seat with Jayce sitting him his lap. Jayce had his arms resting on Viktor’s shoulders with his wrists playfully overlapping each other, fingers spread. Viktor has both arms under Jayce’s with his hands gently holding onto Jayce’s back. Jayce has his head coyly turned towards the camera with his eyes still on Viktor, head learning to bring their foreheads into contact. Viktor looks on at Jayce lovingly, and may or may not be listening to whatever Jayce is talking about.
